THE COMPLETE PROTECTION THAT JESUS GIVES US TO LIVE HOLY LIVES (1

By John Ollis

When we sit under Gospel preaching we begin to experience conviction in our hearts that we are sinners and that unless we repent we will go to hell. Then the Holy Spirit begins to draw us to Christ, He gives us grace, and faith (Eph.2:8-9) to respond, as we cannot come to God unless the Holy Spirit draws us to God.

Sadly so much Gospel preach begins and ends their and many believers think that Salvation is simply coming to Christ and getting saved. There is so much more and many believers go through life not knowing that God has made available to us “all things that pertain to life and Godliness” (2 Peter 1.3).  What an indictment on much of the Church that they keep God’s people in ignorance when it comes to their total inheritance in Christ. Did you know that you can live above sin (not that you cannot sin, but you need not sin). Paul tells us in 1 Cor.10.13 that in the midst of EVERY temptation (without exception) God has a way of escape for us.  How do we find out about this awesome inheritance.

I commenced blogging by talking about Biblical Discipleship, that not only must we be taught the basics of the Christian Life but Jesus says we need someone to walk with into Victory, Purity and Holiness. So not only do we need basic Biblical Discipleship but then followed by teaching on our protection that Jesus gives us to live holy lives, and our inheritance (what is written in the WILL now for us). So what is the protection.

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD

In Ephesians 6 :1-18 Paul lists the equipment (or armour) that is made available to us.

Paul uses the illustration of a roman soldier. I will list the armour as it is worn.

  1. The Helmet of Salvation
  2. The breastplate of Righteousness
  3. The belt (or skirt) of Truth
  4. The Shoes of Peace
  5. The Shield of Faith
  6. The Sword of the Spirit
  7. Prayer

There is sure to be some repetition in this teaching, but we need to be reminded (over and over again) until the information (Logos) becomes revelation (Rhema).

If you can get and keep these truths in your heart you will permanently move to a new level, or as Isaiah says we will start to fly like an eagle.

A greater Reformer once said “an orange tree can’t help but grow oranges”. There should be a desire in your life to change, to grow, to live a holy fruitful life, I want to partner with you to see you Grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. We will without doubt spend considerable period of time  on this teaching, my heart’s desire is that it will truly be life changing.
