A GLORIOUS PROMISE THAT IS PART OF OUR INHERITANCE NOW

By John Ollis

The Psalmist makes an awesome declaration in Psalm 91:1-3 NKJV He who DWELLS in the secret place of the Most High, shall ABIDE under the shadow of the Almighty.2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.

PASSION When you SIT ENTHRONED under the shadow of Shaddai, you are HIDDEN in the strength of God Most High.2 He’s the hope that holds me and the Stronghold to shelter me,
the only God for me, and my great confidence.3 He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy, and he will protect you from false accusation.

I love the Passion translation that says as we learn to abide in the secret place WE ARE HIDDEN in the strength of God.

What a glorious promise we have, but I suggestion there are some implications we need to consider/

The NKJV says “he that dwells”, not just the occasional visit, but we must make it our permanent dwelling place, New Covenant Believers must embrace this part of their inheritance and not treat the throne room simply as a place to rush too when you have a problem, James tells us in his letter in 4:7 NKJV

I am not suggesting this is an easy thing to do, but let us ask the Lord to help us to make “THE SECRET PLACE” our permanent abode.

Paul tells us in 1 Thess.5:17 NKJV Rejoice ALWAYS, 17 pray without CEASING, 18 in EVERYTHING give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

This seems like an impossible task, but Paul was not teasing the Thessalonian Believers, but challenged them to do it.

We know that our biggest problem is not the evil one, but ourselves., but God’s grace and assistance is available, WE MUST START TO ASK AND KEEP ON ASKING UNTIL THIS BECOMES OUR LIFESTYLE.

The Psalmist tells us in verse 2 that if we do this, we find our God to be:

OUR REFUGE

OUR FORTRESS

ONE WHOM WE CAN ALWAYS TRUST

Verse 3 tells us, that we can have victory over the evil one, if we continue to DWELL God will protect us and give us refuge.

James 4:7 NKJV tells us as we live THE SURRENDERED LIFE part of our INHERITANCE NOW is this. “Therefore SUBMIT to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you! We are promised protection and success against the evil one.

May I encourage you to START ASKING TODAY (AND KEEP ON ASKING) the Lord to enable you to ABIDE IN THE SECRET PLACE,AND ENJOY A NEW LEVEL OF RELATIONSHIP AND VICTORY.

Until this happens, we have another glorious promise found in Heb. 4:16 NKJV Let us therefore come boldly (confidently) to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

May the Lord us teach how to live in THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH amen.
