ARE WE LVIING IN THE LAST OF THE LAST DAYS ?

By John Ollis

There are plenty of “signs” in the world that would suggest the Lord’s return is ever closer. My burden and concern is the church in this generation, all I see is:
Spiritual lethargy
Spiritual blindness
Spiritual deafness.
Paul wrote to the Roman Christians in the 1st century and challenged them saying “It is high time to awake out of sleep, for now our salvation (Christ’s return) is nearer than when we first believed. I trust this blog may wake some sleepy Christians to see the hour in which they live.
I met with a pastor friend yesterday and he shared with me he feels led to preach on Sunday morning about discipleship  and taking up our cross to follow Jesus. I said ” you sound as if you feel you are a voice crying in the wilderness” and he agreed with me. What a sad day we live in. Duncan Campbell puts it this way.
THERE IS A KIND OF GOSPEL BEING PROCLAIMED TODAY WHICH CONVENIENTLY ACCOMMODATES ITSELF TO THE SPIRIT OF THE AGE AND MAKES NO DEMAND FOR HOLINESS.
A.W. Tozer expresses it this way. A WHOLE GENERATION OF CHRISTIANS HAVE COME UP BELIEVING THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO “ACCEPT” CHRIST WITHOUT FORSAKING THE WORLD.
What is the answer ? This is Tozer’s response:
THE CHURCH MUST SEEK IN PRAYER AND MUMILITY. THE COMING AGAIN OF MEN MADE OF THE STUFF OF WHICH PROPHETS AND MARTYRS ARE MADE.
There are some prominent preachers in our current generation who because of their ability and all our technology are impacting our world. But, their preaching is all “ear tickling” and millions are being caught up in prosperity teaching, cheap grace teaching, same sex marriage and anything that pleases the hearers.
May God raise up “Preachers of Righteousness” that will call sin for what it is, and WILL NOT compromise and make excuses. Let us pray that God will speak clearly to His servants, and they will “sit down and count the cost” and preach the unadulterated Word of God, calling God’s people to repentance and holy living.
If ever there was need for revival it is now. Can I ask you to pray (and keep on praying) against the lethargy, blindness and deafness that the enemy has put upon so much of the church. Unless God’s people’s ears and eyes are opened nothing will change but sadly will become worse. If ever there was a prayer God wants to answer it is this, only when our eyes and ears are opened, can we then lay hold of the glorious promise:
IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY NAME, WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAYAND SEEK MY FACE,AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVENAND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIND AND HEAL THEIR LAND  2 Chron. 7:14
We know Jesus is coming for a Church that is without spot or blemish, but it doesn’t need to be a small remnant. God wants to send revival, but we must ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking knock and keep on knocking and REVIVAL WILL COME.
I guess there will be those who read this, and will see me as a “grumpy old man” and  that I need to become “contemporary”. I am unapologetic regarding this blog, every word I write I am also challenging myself. I said in my previous blog, I understand the pressures and lack of discipline in my own life, but by His grace, I refuse, to be lethargic, I want people to speak into my life if they see any areas of blindness or deafness. I will work out my Salvation “with fear and trembling”.
This will be my last blog as I will be off line from Sunday for about three weeks.
Please comment on the above. God bless you, may you have an awesome time in Father’s House this weekend.
