JESUS DID THE WILL OF GOD
When I think about all that relates to Christ’s first coming, I am genuinely overwhelmed. Starting back in eternity past, our Heavenly Father knew that His creation (yet to be created) would bring sin and all its consequences into the world. JESUS BECAME THE ANSWER TO THE SIN QUESTION and became “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” Revelation 13:8 NKJV. The wrath of God was on mankind because of Adam’s sin, God could not compromise His justice and holiness, so laid His wrath and the sins of the whole world on Jesus the perfect sinless offering.
The Father decided to involve His creation in the redemption plan and chose Mary, and, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” Luke 1:28 NKJV Although Mary could not fully comprehend all that was to transpire her response was “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”Luke 1:38 The word Mary chose for WORD was Rhema, that personal quickened word that produced faith in her heart, as she declared “I am available to do the will of God whatever it may be”. Her womb carried the eternal sinless son of God.
Although He had willingly laid aside the perogatives of deity, even at age twelve Jesus knew God the Father had a plan for His life. The family had been to Jerusalem for Passover and they assumed as they were returning Jesus was with the extended family, when they could not find him after three days, they returned to the city and found Jesus in the Temple discussing teaching with the Scholars, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”. JESUS WAS COMMITTED TO DOING THE WILL OF GOD. He remained submitted as a son to Mary & Joseph until He was thirty years old. When the time was right, he submitted to Water Baptism, did He hear John’s words I wonder? ““Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world”. John 1:29NKJV. Jesus was that Lamb that John who wrote the Book of Revelation declared had been slain before the creation of the world.
Throughout Jesus’s ministry He declared He had come to do the Father’s will, even on the night before the Crucifixion when He was betrayed cried out in prayer “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Luke 22:42NKJV
RIGHT TO THE END JESUS DECLARED I WILL DO THE WILL OF GOD.
In two weeks we celebrate Easter, I trust you are spending time during this Lenten journey to consider all that Calvary and Christ’s death and resurrection and His awesome commitment to do the FATHER’S WILL, that gave you and me, the privilege of coming into the Kingdom of God, being restored into relationship with the Living God, and giving us constant access into the father’s presence. May you like me, be overwhelmed and thank God you are part of HIS ETERNAL PLAN Hallelujah
