5 IMPORTANT WORDS COMMENCING WITH W (6)

By John Ollis

We now come to the final word in this series of blogs, it is WATCHING.
Christians live with the constant “tension” of being busy serving the Lord, and seeking to grow in grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, and at the same time we should be watching, and looking up because Jesus could break through the clouds at anytime.
Paul felt to write to the Romans and say in 13:11 PASSION To live like this is all the more urgent, for time is running out and you know it is a strategic hour in human history. It is time for us to wake up! For our full salvation (Christ’s return) is nearer now than when we first believed.
James writing in his letter says in 5:8 NKJV You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
The early Church lived in the hope and light of the Lord’s soon return, but here we are 2000 years later and He has not yet returned, it is easy to get sleepy  and not to be watching for the Lord’s return.
Paul encouraged the Philippian Believers in 3:20 NKJV For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
The writer to Hebrews really challenges us in 9:28 NKJV so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who EAGERLY WAIT FOR HIM He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
This verse really convicts me, am I eagerly WAITING AND WATCHING FOR HIM? It is so easy to get caught up with things down here, and I am sure all my readers would agree, we need to pray and ask the Lord to help us in this “tension”.
James also reminds us WE HAVE NOT BECAUSE WE ASK NOT, let us ask the Lord to increase this need to have the awareness of Christ’s soon return, it is a prayer HE WANTS TO ANSWER. and there is a bonus benefit when you live in the hope of Christ’s return 1 John 3: 2-3 NKJV Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
AMP Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.
And everyone who has this hope [resting] on Him cleanses (purifies) himself just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless).
Let our watching produce such a desire for holiness and victory and purity amen.
I would really appreciate a response from this series please write and comment on all the blogs ok?
