JESUS IS COMING SOON

As a young man,and until about 20 years ago I was a committed Premillenial Pre-Tribulationist. Which means I believed that Christ would return before a 7 year tribulation following by a 1000 year reign of Christ on the earth. The more I studied Eschatology (Doctrine of the end times) and discovered there were literally tens of millions of words written about the topic, and there were so many schools of thought and interpretation, I made a decision I would NOT to be dominated by any school of interpretation, but seek to follow 3 important keys which I list below.

I have a very dear friend who has made an in depth study of this doctrine over many years, and regularly teaches on the tropic, he also annually takes tours to Israel and the Middle East every year. When there has been some sporadic outburst in the region in the past, he has always said it is safe, “there is nothing to worry about”. This year in relation to the numerous attacks on the oil ships he has decided (for the very first time) NOT to take a tour. Iran has been blamed by much of the world community for these attacks, and now today Tehran has declared that it has made more uranium into the fuel required for nuclear warfare than it is allowed to do. Are we on the verge of nuclear war? I sure don’t know, neither do I want to create fear in the Christian community, so what do we do.

Let us remember God is not even slightly surprised about what is happening today, only He knows if it is simply scare tactics by the Iranian regime, because of the massive restrictions they are experiencing, or is this a “sign” that this world system will soon be wrapped up.

In atheistic nations where persecution (for example) against Christians is a common practice, this drives the Church to its knees (not in fear) but sure asking that “strength will come from above for God’s people” and they pray “THY KINGDOM COME”, as they and we bow to the will of God.

So what is the challenge for us today?

1. It is time to PRAY, perhaps more than we have ever prayed before.
2. It is time to be BUSIER THAN EVER fulfilling the Great Commission, and to partner with the Lord for an end time ingathering of precious souls.
3. It is time to be READY AND STAY READY as we see these signs, as we learn to live in the light of the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Bride. 1 John 3:2-3 NKJV Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is REVEALED, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. MESSAGE But friends, that’s exactly who we are: children of God. And that’s only the beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see him—and in seeing him, become like him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own. Let us look up as Jesus recommends in Luke 21:28 MESSAGE And at last, when you see how the Son of Man comes—surrounded with a cloud, with great power and miracles, in the radiance of his splendor, and with great glory and praises —it will make you jump for joy! For the day of your full transformation has arrived.”
