LOOKING BACK AND LOOKING FORWARD TO 2020

By John Ollis

This week is a good opportunity to make an assessment of 2019.

WHAT SORT OF YEAR HAVE YOU HAD?

Has it been a year of blessing?
Has it been a year of spiritual growth?
Has it been a year of revelation?
Have you seen much fruit for the Kingdom of God?
I guess the questions could go on and on, but I trust you will agree with me that if you have seen blessing and growth this year, it has been because you co-operated with the purposes Of God in your life?
has there been some failures and disappointments? The reality of life seems to be that there are sadly some negatives in our life each year. What have we learnt from these situations? Are we determined by the grace of God that these negatives will be stepping stones (and not stumbling blocks) in 2020.
I want to shout from the hilltops “THE LORD HAS BEEN SO GOOD, HE HAS NEVER FAILED ME ONCE.
I am conscious that physically my body is declining, there are more aches and pains, and things don’t seem to work so well anymore, but the Lord helping me, I want to obey Paul’s admonition  in 1 Thess. 5:18 NLT Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.  The MESSAGE expresses it this way “Yhank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.”

SO WHAT OF 2020?

I want to write out what I want to believe God for in this coming year, and ask you to pray with me that they will all come to pass.
I want to move to a new level of  intimacy with the Lord.
I want to move to a higher level of spiritual victory and holiness.
I want the Lord to keep teaching me how to pray and move in intercession.
I have unsaved family in at least 3 countries who I want to see born again.
I have family who do not attend church but confess they are Christians.
Other family members I want to see deepening their walk with the Lord.
I want to see more people blest and encouraged through my blogs.
I want to see my Mentoring Ministry develop even more in 2020.
That I am physically well enough to preach the Word when I am invited.
That I may go back to Asia one more time to teach the Word.
So, what of 2020 for you? I trust me writing this simple blog will challenge you to sit down and list what you want to see the Lord do in this coming year. I trust you will feel free to share your list and I can pray with you.
May you have a blessed Christmas, and may 2020 be THE BEST YEAR YET FOR YOU.
