WHAT SEASON ARE YOU IN?
I said my next blog would be about something that Solomon wrote. It is these now famous words found in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NLT
For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.
We know the four main weather seasons well, Spring, summer, autumn (fall) & winter, as we have them every year. Some seasons are one off, like babyhood, childhood, teem years. adulthood, and the senior years. Other seasons as Solomon declares can happen numerous times in our life.
We may not enjoy a particular season, but we need to be convinced that our God is sovereign, and as Believers EVERYTHING (every season) happens with God’s permission and He always has a purpose that is positive in the end for us. Rom. 8:28-29 NLT God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. The MESSAGE Bible expresses it so simply and well this way :God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him.
So what season are you in at this time ?? Even though you are not enjoying it, be convincethat GOD IS IN CONTROL and He is taking you through this time for the purpose of making you more Jesus. I have written before that too many Christians start binding the devil because things are not going well, in their lives.
I am not suggesting it is always easy, we must start with having the revelation THAT God is truly in control, and He loves us with “an everlasting love” and he wants prepare us to live in eternity with Him. I will pray with you that you have the 12 inch drop from head to heart, so you can lean back on the “everlasting arms of God” and learn to respond and not react to the season you are going through. I have used the term before that HINDSIGHT IS 20/20 VISION and sometimes it is later that we look back and can see God’s hand in our situation and the awesome results it produced. I was waiting in a store just this morning when a Christian sister came in and we began sharing, and shared about a personal situation that had happened in her life, and the awesome end result Praise the Lord.
We sure can’t dictate to God what season we can go through, but if we walk in the light of the Word and our conscience 1 John 1:7 and seek to walk in obedience to the Lord in everything we do and say, we are promised God’s favour and blessing.
My prayer for you and for myself is that 2020 will be a special season in every way amen.
