DRIVE THE VULTURES AWAY.

By John Ollis

A Pastor friend on many years, sent a WhatsApp message today,  to I assume numerous people , it was a great word, and blessed me. We tend to reminisce as we get older, and not only think  of all the good things that have happened in the past, but I think the enemy also likes to remind us  of our mistakes in the past too. This is what his post said.

GOD IS SAYING TO YOU

Stop dwelling on the past, look at what I am doing for you right now. Look at this fresh new day I have given you. I am continually at work in your life making things new and different. I do not want you to dwell on your past failures and mistakes. I don’t. I do want you to look at how I was there for you in the past though. Really search your heart. I am always there, but do not dwell on disappointments you are only then stealing today’s joy and the chance to be closer to me.
I  love the story in Genesis 15:11 NKJV where we read And when the vultures came down on the carcasses, Abram DROVE them away.  I am trying to learn more and more that when the “vultures” (those negative and sinful (not of faith thoughts ) get into my head and thinking  I MUST DRIVE THEM AWAY. The thoughts are very sneaky as they can creep up and get into your head and they can find a resting place before you realise they have  actually started attacked your mind.

I THANK GOD FOR THE WEAPONS HE HAS GIVEN US.HERE ARE 4.

  1. The delegated authority we have to you say IN THE NAME OF JESUS GET OUT OF MY HEAD.
  2.  We have the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT (The Word of God) we can declare  and confess, for example GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN ME THAN THE EVIL ONE IN THE WORLD. “I AM MORE THAN A CONQUERER THROUGH HIM THAT LOVES ME”.
  3.  We have THE BLOOD OF JESUS we can claim to protect our minds.
  4.  may of us have a PRAYER LANGUAGE  we can use as a weapon of warfare against the thoughts.

May the Lord help us to use the weapons PROMPTLY, so we don’t lose our peace.
We have not been promised an easy life, the quicker we recognise these “vultures” we can say with King David in Psalm 34:19 AMP. O.T. Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
MESSAGE If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut He’ll help you catch your breath. HALLELUJAH.
I trust these simple thoughts will bless and encourage you today.
