PRAYING FOR A PENTECOSTAL OUTPOURING THIS SUNDAY
This Sunday coming is PENTECOST SUNDAY when we celebrate the birth of the Christian Church and when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the 120 Disciples seeking God in the Upper Room in Jerusalem. This was not a one off experience for we read numerous times in the Book of Acts of people being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. The empowerment of the 120 Disciples and their anointed witness turned the known world upside down in one generation. It is recorded also many times in the writings of the Church Fathers. but like so many truths this was also lost and God restored the experience around the turn of the 20th century, and as I wrote recently, this has impacted the Christian Church around the world it would seem, more than any other truth.

CAN YOU PRAY AND BELIEVE FOR A MIGHTY OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT NEXT SUNDAY.? LORD SEND THE FIRE GIVE US ANOTHER PENTECOST?
A verse I have used many times over the years in these blogs in James 4:2 NLT Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
Yet the New Testament is replete with promises that if we ask God will answer our prayers. Do you believe God wants to pour out His Spirit upon His Church, I sure do. So let me remind you of some of the promises in the N.T. we can lay hold of.
Matt. 7:7 AMP. N.T.Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.
Matt. 21:22 NLT You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”
John 14:13-14 NLT You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
1 John 5:14-15 NLT And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
Let me encourage you to read and re-read these verses and meditate on them, and read them in various translations, and also pray “LORD TURN THE LIGHT ON” and let them become a personal Rhema word to you, and with that “word of faith” in your heart begin praying today for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Sunday Amen.
Let us be specific in our praying:
That the Holy Spirit will convict God’s people of their need to be filled with the Spirit
That the Holy Spirit will convict sinners of their need of a Saviour
That the Holy Spirit would draw men and women to the foot of the cross in true repentance.
That the Holy Spirit will “set our feet to dancing” and we rejoice in great praise & worship unto the Lord.
That the Holy Spirit will teach God’s people to live the “surrendered/Spirit filled life.
