WHEN WILL THE BRIDE START PREPARING HERSELF?

By John Ollis

We have all been shocked and concerned about the underwater “volcano” that erupted near Tonga a few days ago. Once again, I have written a few times recently, that these things, like earthuakes, volcanoes, floods, famines, wars are according to the Word of God all “signs” pointing to the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church, even Jesus 2000 years ago in Luke 21:28 NKJV encouraged the disciples saying “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

N.L.T. So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”

AMP. N.T. Now when these things begin to occur, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption (deliverance) is drawing near.

The early Church lived in the light of Christ’s soon return John tells us in 1 John 3:2-3 NKJV Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

N.L.T. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.

MESSAGE But friends, that’s exactly who we are: children of God. And that’s only the beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see him—and in seeing him, become like him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own.

AMP.N.T. Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is.

Having the “hope” of Christ’s soon return John says keeps us pure, but as I wrote in my earlier blog today, so few Christians “are looking up” and living in the light of Christ’s soon return. Are we just so caught up with the cares of this world (or its pleasures) even a pandemic seems to be having so little a spiritual effect on the Church.

I am reminded of Rev. 19:6-8 NKJV “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

No one knows when the Lord shall return but THE BRIDE SHOULD BE PREPARING AND GETTING READY FOR HER WEDDING DAY NOW. We know naturally, a bride spends much time preparing herself for her wedding day, my heart’s cry is that the Bride of Christ will recognise the day is close, and she needs to work harder at preparing for her great day. I trust you agree, and personally do everything you need to do to be ready for that great and glorious day amen.
