UNDERSTANDING MORE OF “GOD’S SO GREAT SALVATION” (1).

I want to thank all those who recently read and responded to my two blogs related to Biblical Discipleship. There were no negative responses, only the lament that it either didn’t happen in their lives or is not happening in their local church.

I am sure I have written previously saying, that if I have a regret in my life it is because I never had a Disciple-maker in my life, nor were ever exposed to organisations (like The Navigators) that promoted the importance of Discipleship. In many ways it has been the grace of God that has kept me over these past 70 years, as I very slowly began to understand becoming a Christian was far more than just getting your sins forgiven and knowing you are going to spend eternity with the Lord.

Despite, years of Theological studies, Graduate and Post Graduate, I didn’t really hear much about God’s “so great Salvation” (other than being a doctrine) and the awesome inheritance that is mine through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Although I was saved in a “Holiness church” sadly, it was more about keeping the rules and obeying the “Thou shalt nots”. In hindsight I got too busy in ministry and serving the Lord, and only very slowly getting to understand the INHERITANCE that is mine now to live in victory over sin and truly seeking to “Be holy as God is holy”.

I am so thankful for the ministry of the Holy Spirit (see last blog) who has beeN leading me into truth, (even if Ihacve been slow to receive at times) I sure have not arrived, but every day, a new shaft of light and revelation seems to be my portion, where the INFORMATION HAS BECOME REVELATION, THE LOGOS WORD BECOMING A RHEMA WORD and I am humbly very conscious I am growing in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This blog today will be at least one of three blogs on this topic, on all that is mine through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, having the information is one thing, letting it become revelation and personal and experiential is very much another thing, and I guess I knew a lot of information but now I am taking my rights as recorded in the Will, (The Word of God) as every item has my name on it.

The first scripture I want to highlight today is 2 Peter 1:3-4 NKJV His divine power has given to us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

PASSION Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God HAS ALREADY BEEN DEPOSITED IN US BY HIS DIVINE POWER. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness. As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world.

N.L.T. By his divine power, God HAS GIVEN US EVERYTHING WE NEED TO LIVE A GODLY LIFE. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

Please read and mediate on these various translations and let the Holy Spirit quicken theses truths to your spirit. In 1 Peter 1:23 NKJV Peter tells us “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever”, the AMP.N.T. says, You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.

When we received the Word of God that convicted us of our sin and God enabling us to repent, we received God’s DNA (His divine sperma) and we now have God’s divine nature in us, and when someone comes along side of us and walk with us, this awesome truth begins to become real and experiential in our lives, and we want to be more like Jesus and live a holy pure life. THAT IS WHY BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP IS SO IMPORTANT.
