MAY WE LET THE LORD’S PEACE RULE AND REIGN IN OUR LIVES.
The world has is still living with the worst pandemic in over 100 years, and virtually every nation has been impacted to some degree. The area that seems to have impacted the population the most is what is termed “MENTAL HEALTH” people have not emotionally and mentally been able to handle the effects of the pandemic on their lives and often their personal broader world. I am reminded of the words of Jesus in Luke 21:26 NKJV men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Jesus was particularly speaking about the end times, and there is no doubt we are in those days, and the Pandemic highlights the fact that unbelievers especially cannot handle all the stress and trial that is in our world. It is interesting that we have been hearing on the news many celebrities in their late 50″s and early 50’s dying of heart attacks and heart failure.
N.I.V. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken
AMP. N.T. Men swooning away or expiring with fear and dread and apprehension and expectation of the things that are coming on the world; for the [very] powers of the heavens will be shaken and caused to totter.
N.L.T. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
PASSION What men see coming to the earth will cause the fear of doom to grip their hearts, for they will even see the powers of the heavenly realm shaken!
I am reminded of an old hymn which I have tried to cut and paste without success the chorus reads TAKE YOUR BURSEN TO THE LORD AND LEAVE IT THERE. and that is the challenge we face as the human temptation is to pick it up again and cause us to lose our peace and joy.
The Apostle Peter writes 1 Peter 5:7 NKJV Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
AMP.N.T. Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns ,once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
The word CASTING has that inference of throwing the burden down, and saying “Lord I can’t handle this, I hand it over to you, and let you carry it for me.
Another hymn I love speaks of the result of learning to cast our cares on the Lord and as we leave them at His feet, HIS PEACE FILLS AND FLOODS OUR HEART, AND THIS CAN BE PERMANENT AS WE TRUST THER LORD,
Once I thought I walked with Jesus,
Yet such changeful feelings had,
Sometimes trusting, sometimes doubting,
Sometimes joyful, sometimes sad.
Refrain:
O the peace my Saviour gives,
Peace I never knew before!
And my way has brighter grown
Since I learned to trust him more.
2 But he called me closer to him,
Bade my doubts and fears all cease,
And, when I had fully yielded,
Filled my soul with perfect peace.
3 Now I’m trusting every moment,
Nothing less can be enough;
And my Saviour bears me gently
O’er the places once so rough.
I am so thankful I am born again, and the Lord is the King over my life, and as I seek to live the Spirit filled life Eph. 5:18, I can experience His peace and blessing even in the midst of a pandemic, may this be your experience too,
