ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR GOD’S “SO GREAT SALVATION” AND SHARE THE GOOD NEWS?
I want to share an encouraging thought, that may be a reminder and blessing to you. The Psalmist declares in Psalm 107:1-2 NKJV Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
Can you as a child remember being told many times by your parents to say “please”, or say “thank you” and then as a parent you had to teach your child to be thankful, as the reality is because of our sinful nature we are born unthankful and must learn to be thankful, and have an “attitude of gratitude.
As Christians we can often take for granted all the blessings the Lord pours upon us daily, and often we literally forget all the good things the Lord does for us.
BEING THANKFUL MUST BECOME A LIFESTYLE FOR THE BELIEVER.
Have you ever thought about being thankful when things are not going so well, Paul tells us in Rm.8:28 NKJV And we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose Romans 8:28. All means all, and God at times permits what may seem negative to us, but because He loves us, like a parent he needs to discipine us , Heb.115-6 NKJV“My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”
He does this because Heb. 11:10-11 NKJV tells us, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Giving thanks is a major truth in the New Testament, and here the Psalmist reminds us, please note it is not just for all God does for us, but that His very character is GOOD. and I don’t know about you but I am very glad His mercies ENDURE FOR EVER.
Our Sovereign God saw us in eternity past messing up over and over again, if He thought and acted as a human being, He would have thrown us onto the rubbish heap of life, but instead He chose us to be a part of His eternal family. Thank You Lord for Your constant awesome love towards us.
Then, the Psalmist goes on and says “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so” we are not to keep all His unmerited blessings to ourselves but declare it at every opportunity.
In the past many churches had a “Testimony” time is a service and Believers could share all the Lord was doing in them and for them.
What if a non-Christian asked you “what is it that is different about you, would you share the Gospel with them, and the Lord’s blessing on your life, and that they too can experience the goodness of God.
LORD HELP US TO BE MORE THANKFUL, AND DECLARE YOUR GOODNESS MORE AND MORE AMEN.
Our workplace, our neighbors, are our mission field and let us ask the Lord that we be more aware of the opportunities that come our way, and be prepared to share with people.
