8 Keys To Protect The Mind (Part 2)

I trust you have seen the truth of the Power of the Blood of Jesus to protect our minds from the attacks of the enemy even while we sleep. Because of my health issues these last 6 months, you can appreciate I have had to work harder than usual to protect my mind, every night I have experienced the total protection of the Lord as I have slept.

KEY NO. 2.  Do you understand the legal term “Power of Attorney”. Let me illustrate it for you. Many years ago now, I had the privilege of travelling around the world for 6 weeks with my Mentor. It was a life changing experience, but before I left I had a problem. My house was on the market to sell, so I went to a lawyer to explain my problem. His response was,  “you do not have a problem in the world”. He pulled out a document and asked me to sign it. The document gave him authority to act on my behalf, he could sign a contract of sale on my behalf with his signature, and even though I was thousands of miles away, it was as if I was standing right there, all my authority backed that signature. Believers need to realise that Jesus has given us authority to use His name, James tells us (chapter 4.7) that we must “Resist the devil (in the Name of Jesus) and he must run away. Just as the devil hates the blood of Christ, He hates the Name of Jesus. So next time he attacks your mind say “In Jesus Name get out of my head” and he must run away. This needs to become a revelation truth to you, remember the sons of Sceva (Acts 19:14-15) they tried to cast out a demon, but did not understand that part of their inheritance was that they had an authority “In the Name of Jesus”, so the demons just laughed at them.  Paul tells us (Coll.3.17) that we should  do“all things in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ”. Let me encourage you to meditate on this truth, and let the Holy Spirit give you the revelation that you have authority over the enemy “In the Name of Jesus”.

KEY NO. 3. How did Jesus deal with temptation in the wilderness. Every time the enemy came to Him, he confessed the word of God,  “Satan it is written”, His first confession in the wilderness was, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word (RHEMA) that proceeds from the mouth of God”. Why do I emphasise mediating on the Word of God, the Holy Spirit wants to take the Logos (written word) and make it a Rhema word.  Interestingly in Eph 6.17 Paul put the Helmet  of Salvation & and the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word (RHEMA) of God. Please mediate on scriptures for example like:

Phil.4.13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me,

Rom. 8.37 We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us,

1 John 4.14 Greater is he that is within me, than he that is in the world.

Let these verses become a RHEMA word to you, and use them as a sword, and when the devil comes to tempt, take the sword and say, satan, “I am more than a conqueror through Christ”, he must withdraw,  He hates the blood of Christ, the Name of Jesus, and he hates the Word of God.

My prayer for you is that these 3 keys we have looked at so far will become revelation to use, and you will use them against the enemy. Paul tells us that in the midst of every temptation there is a way of escape 1 Cor.10.13, not that we cannot sin, but we need not sin, if we understand our inheritance in Christ, and put on the whole armour of God.
