By John Ollis

The awesome truth of having access into the presence of God has become a broader sweeter revelation to me over these last few weeks. Paul says in,
Eph. 2.18 For through Him (Jesus) we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. NKJV.
The eternal Godhead are all involved in my being  able to have access into the presence of God. We all know because of Adam’s (and Eve’s) sin, the wrath of God was on mankind, and all we deserved was the lowest hell, but Jesus came and took the Father’s wrath upon Himself, so we could be again accepted and acceptable.
My eldest son’s wife is the full time  Creative Producer at Hillsong Church in Sydney, and is very much responsible for all the productions at the  major Conferences  sponsored by the Church and special occasions at Church like Christmas and Easter.
When she is at the major conference centres she wears a tag that says “ACCESS ALL AREAS”. I was reminded of King David’s words in Ps.100.4 I will enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Even the King did not have “access all areas” even the High Priest could only go beyond the veil once a year. History tells us that the reason there were bells and pomegranites around the hem of the High Priest’s robe, was so the other priests could hear him walking around. I understand a rope was put around the High Priest’s leg, so if the offering of blood was not accepted by God, he could be dragged out.
Let us journey with David:
He entered the gate of the Tabernacle (with thanksgiving)
He sees the brazen altar (where thousands of animals were slain) He thanked God for His Salvation
He sees the brazen laver, and thanks God for the cleansing by the water of the Word.
He goes into the Holy Place (with praise)
He seems the Golden Lampstand and praises God for the Illumination the Holy Spirit brings to the Word.
He sees the Table of Shewbread, and praises God for His continuous supply.
He sees the altar of incense, and praises God  he can commune with God.
BUT DAVID DID NOT HAVE ACCESS ALL AREAS. That is as far as king David could go.
When Jesus  died, the veil was rent from top to bottom (only God could do that), now we have permanent access, and can come
in the Lord’s presence, may by His grace we live there. The writer to Hebrews puts it this way:
Heb.10 19-22 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus. By a new and living way which he consecrated for us, through the veil, that is His flesh. And having a High Priest over the house of God,  let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled  from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
So reminding you one more time, we must prepare our hearts (seek forgiveness Ps.66.18), reaffirm Christ’s Lordship over our lives, enter the gates with thanksgiving, enter the Court with praise, then enter the Holy of Holies and worship (love, adore, kiss, magnify our awesome Saviour and Lord.
This is all part of our glorious inheritance purchased for us through Christ’s death and resurrection.
My Christian friends, enjoy your inheritance.
