GOING ON HOLIDAYS AT LAST

By John Ollis

We did take 2 Sundays away from our local church during January, but tomorrow we leave for Lakes Entrance (for one night) then go onto Merimbula  (South coast N.S.W.) for a week, then onto our children in Sydney for nearly 2 weeks, I am preaching at home  in Moe at our local church on Sunday 22nd so need to be back before that date.
I thought I would respond to my last blog about “The good old days”, it caused quite a response relative to songs we loved to sing in the past. I list some that have been mentioned.
I cannot tell why He whom angels worshiped.
I love the old old story
This is the day
For God so loved the world
Standing somewhere in the shadows
He owns the cattle on a thousand hills
If you can’t remember all the words, you can google them.
Another chorus that has come to mind since i wrote the last blog is :
Within the veil I now would come I now would come
To look upon Thy face, I see such beauty there
None other can compare, I worship Thee my Lord within the veil.
I discovered that 2 addition verses have been written by a Ruth Dryden
Within the veil I find real peace
Within thy Holy place I feel your warm embrace
I find such comfort there, free from the world’s despair
I give my life to you within the veil
Within the veil, the battle’s won
My Lord has paid the price, the final sacrifice
My hope is there secured, my victory assured
I praise my Lord above within the veil.
If you think  of some others you want to share with me please respond. I don’t expect to be blogging for the next 3 weeks, but look forward to your responses.
You may remember that we attempted to go to Sydney in December, but had to turn around, please keep us in prayer during this holiday break.   Thank you.
