A COMMITMENT THAT CHANGED MY LIFE

By John Ollis

In January 2005 I made a commitment to the Lord, as the Holy Spirit moved upon me in a church service,  to love the Lord more, and to love S.E.Asia more, I could not have foreseen  what the commitment would produce.  At the end of August  2005 I resigned from my teaching role in one of Australia’s largest Bible Colleges and literally stepped out in faith with no promised salary and began to teach and preach throughout S.E. Asia. I did this continually for over 7 years, ministering in every major nation in the region. The Lord met all my needs, and it became the most fruitful period in my whole ministry life.  Only a Staph. infection stopped me from doing this continually. Although I still went out as often as I could.
I have been meditating much over this Easter period on all the was accomplished through Christ’s death and resurrection. I am making a new commitment today that I believe will have a major impact on my life just as the previous commitment I mentioned above.
In 2 Peter 1:3  we read that God has GIVEN TO US ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO LIFE AND GODLINESS.
When we are given a gift by someone, we have the choice to use it how much or how little we want too, and like the gift mentioned by Peter above, throughout our Christian life  we either through ignorance, or simply not getting too involved with God we don’t make full use of this gift. The Lord will never override  our free will, WE MUST MAKE A CHOICE.
By God’s grace, I choose today to use this gift more than I ever have at any time  in my life to move to a new level of holy victorious living. I have no excuse I can live in victory. It means I will spend more time sitting in the Lord’s presence every day, spending more time meditating on the Word of God, it means continually presenting myself in surrender to the Lord, and letting the Holy Spirit fill my life. I am expecting dramatic changes to take place. Will you pray with me, that this commitment will be lasting and effective In my life.
May I encourage you as a result of your meditations over Easter to make a fresh commitment to love and serve the Lord more, and move to a higher level of victory and holiness in your life. I have asked you to pray for me, let me know if you are making a similar commitment, and I will daily pray with you, and we can share together on what the Lord is doing in our lives.  I want to be part of the Lord’s Church that Paul says  is without spot or wrinkle or blemish , I want to be MORE LIKE JESUS IN EVERY PART OF MY LIFE,
