CONSTANT, CONTINUOUS LOVE
As I was praying this morning and spending some time thanking the Lord for all His blessings, including His “everlasting love to me” Jer.31:3. An old hymn came to mind.
A friend I have called Jesus, whose love is strong and true, and never fails howe’er tis tried no matter what I do, I’ve sinned against this love of His, but when I knelt to pray, confessing all my guilt to Him, the sin cloud rolled away.
It’s just like Jesus to roll the clouds away, it’s just like Jesus to keep me day by day, it’s just like Jesus all along the way, it’s just like His great love.
Sometimes the clouds of trouble bedim the sky above,, I cannot see my Saviour’s face, I doubt His wondrous love; But he, from heaven’s mercy seat, beholding my despair, In pity bursts the clouds between and shows me He is there.
When sorrow clouds o’ertake me, and break upon my head, when life seems worse than useless, and I were better dead, I take my grief to Jesus, nor do I go in vain, for heavenly hope He gives that cheers like sunshine after rain.
O, I could sing forever of Jesus’ love divine, of all His care and tenderness for this poor life of mine; His love is in and over all, and wind and waves abbey, When Jesus whispers “Peace be still” and rolls the clouds away.

Then I turned to Jeremiah 31:3-4 the Message Bible says.
God told them “I’ve never quit loving you and never will, expect love, love, and more love! And so now I will start over with you and build you up again, dear virgin Israel.
There is so much truth in these two verses. In eternity past God loved us, He loves us now, and will continue to love us in eternity future.
Because of His great love He drew us to Himself, we were born again, and received an awesome inheritance. When we tend to wander, the Holy Spirit continues to draw us back to Himself.
The practical outworking of the divine love is that God builds us into the image of Christ, and despite what has happened in the past as the Message Bible says He sees us as pure as a virgin. That reminds of an old chorus.
I am covered over with the robe of righteousness Jesus gives to me, I am covered over with the precious blood of Jesus, what a joy it is to know my heavenly Father loves me so, he gives to me my Jesus, when he looks at me He sees not what I uses to be, He sees Jesus.
I am overwhelmed as I ponder God’s love for me, He saw me in eternity past, and chose me, He saw all the stupid mistakes (sins) I would commit even post conversion, AND HE STILL LOVES ME.
I am so glad God does not react like a human being, if he did, we would have been thrown onto the scrap heap of life long ago. This love does not stop at our death, buts continues throughout eternity
