FORGET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS

We know God is Sovereign, and it is hard to comprehend where we would be, and what we would be doing today, but for:

THE GOODNESS AND GRACE OF GOD

My birthday falls in early September, and near the end of term 2 in the August, my father said to me “leave school and get a job” I actually started my first full time job before I turned 14. Although I was born again at age ten and had received a call of God to enter ministry, there was no thought or consideration or encouragement regarding my basic education. The College I wanted and did eventually  attend initially did not have any minimum education requirements.
I knew God had called me to be a “Pastor” but had no understanding either of the basic study requirements or everything else that was expected for a person to function in ministry.
We know our sovereign God knows everything (about everything) and He saw me in eternity past being involved in Theological Education which required me to teach at “degree level”, and to have a degree higher than the students I taught, and here I was at 14 leaving school with no educational recognition of any kind.
To move ahead to 1988, I had been able to earn a Diploma in Bible & Theology, then a Bachelor of Missiology, then a  Master ‘s degree in Missiology, with the Lord’s help and encouragement of friends and colleagues. I share this not to boast but to give God all the glory. You will see where I am going with this in the conclusion.
As a result of the Lord’s calling and direction in ministry, I have had the privilege of touching literally many thousands through the Teaching and Preaching of God’s Word and many have become  spiritual sons and daughters.
I was sitting quietly the other day, and it struck me,
I COULD HAVE ENDED UP IN A DEAD END JOB AND LIVE AN UNFULFILLED LIFE BUT FOR THE SOVEREIGN GRACE AND BLESSING OF GOD.
The most wonderful thing a person can experience is to be born again of the Spirit of God, but there are so many ADDED BENEFITS that we can take for granted, I could spend all day listing them, that is why we must develop an attitude of gratitude, and continually have a thankful heart.

FOR GOD HAS BEEN SO GOOD TO US

None of which we deserved, and there is nothing we can do to earn
