A GENTLE REMINDER TO US ALL

By John Ollis

There will not  be one new thing in this blog, but as REPITITION is such an important part of teaching I WANT TO REMIND YOU OF A FEW THINGS TODAY.
Do you make time to sit in the Lord’s presence and contemplate our SO GREAT SALVATION Hebrews 2:3 NKJV and that in eternity past God chose us Ephesians 1:4 NKJV just as He CHOSE us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. Our God who is omniscient (all seeing and all knowing) saw us committing wicked sins pre conversion, and sadly many post-conversion, yet He still chose us!!!!!!! I am so glad our God is not a man for He surely would not have chosen us, or if He did, then because of our wicked sins would have kicked us out of the Kingdom, but because Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV tells us Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.  Our God will never stop loving us. I honestly can’t take it in, but I am so glad it is 100% truth.
As we have been chosen and redeemed, and forgiven, we have ACCESS into the very Throne room of God 24/7  Hebrews 24:16 NKJV Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.  Not only when we have a need but at  any time for any reason. The reality is, I (we) all have physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs that we need to bring to Him, and Paul reminds us in phil. 4:19 NKJV And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and James tells us in his letter (4:2NKJV) Yet you do not have because you do not ask. WE ARE INVITEED TO COME AND ASK.
Is it good that we always have needs?? So as we recognise our total inadequacy we must continually come and ask for help. Yet part of our so great Salvation is a glorious inheritance. Ephesians 1:11 NKJV . . In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.  Peter puts it this way in 2 Peter 1:3 NKJV His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.
Through the work of the Cross and the Resurrection  there has been obtained such an inheritance that we can live and experience now (there is more when we get to heaven) BY THE GRACE OF GOD WE CAN LIVE ABOVE SIN, NOT THAT WE CANNOT SIN, BUT NEED NOT SIN.  That is an awesome statement that is hard to take in, we must as we learn to live the Surrendered life, let the Holy Spirit so renew our thinking and bring it in line with the Word of God Romans 12:1-2 NKJV I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
As we learn to sit in the Lord’s presence and contemplate His so great Salvation and develop an INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD, through prayer and the Word of God, we c an learn to live victorious, holy, pure, powerful lives.
Is it time some of us slowed down and smelt the roses, are we too busy, and mentally thinking our busyness will please the Lord.

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS ALL ABOUT BEING NOT DOING

This blog is as much for me as it is to my readers, there is no doubt there are many aspects of our so great Salvation we are not enjoying and experiencing, and it surely is not the Lord’s fault. remember the truth that began in the Old Testament and continues through the New Testament, that if we:

BUILD ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN WE SHALL SEE THE GLORY OF GOD.
