HAVE YOU CHECKED INTO BOOT CAMP YET (3)

In my last blog in this series I highlighted the Belt (Skirt) of Truth, and although physically the belt is not connected to every piece of Roman armour, in our spiritual armoury, the Word of God (TRUTH) is rooted deeply in every one of these 7 pieces of spiritual armour.

Paul continues in verse 14 (Ephesians 6) “having put on the breastplate of righteousn”, Each piece of armour we must personally choose to PUT ON, therefore we need to know which piece of armour we need, and put it on, and commence to use it.

The Greek word for BREASTPLATE is thorax which is the very same word we use in English to describe the chest area of a person particularly that region that covers the lungs and heart. I am reminded that Jeremiah tells us in chapter 17:9 NKJV The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it? The enemy sure wants to attack us at the very source of our being, that just like he tempted Eve in the garden, he knows we can fall into sin, so we must do as Solomon reminds us in Proverbs 4:23 NLT Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. WE MUST PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE AND USE IT.
Getting back to the Breastplate, now we are born again, we have been declared Righteous, that is our new POSITION in Christ, no longer is the father’s wrath upon us, but now when the Father looks at us He sees His glorious son Jesus. The Word of God tells, we must now learn to walk and live in RIGHTEOUSNESS, what Boot camp is all about, is learning to pray, reading and meditating on the Word of God, seeking to walk with the Lord in all we do and say and think, being committed to a local church, daily surrendering ourselves to the Lord and seeking His RULE over our lives as Jesus said on Matthew 6:33 NKJV But seek first the kingdom (rule) of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. We then experience more and more God’s righteousness being manifest in us.

We thank God afresh today for the power of His Word, may we put on the Belt of truth let it the Word WORK in our lives constantly, and so wear our BREASTPLATE, so that we can stand against ALL the strategies of the enemy AMEN.
