LET US LET THE WORD OF GOD WORK IN US EVERY DAY.
Many of us I trust have heard stories (exceptionally rare sadly) about when a particular person comes to Christ and is born again, they literally cannot put their Bible down, but avidly read it hour upon hour. Sadly these stories have generally been of past generations, as today we are living in a generation of Believers that have little hunger for the Word of God.
My readers know I am unashamedly “fanatical” about Biblical Discipleship, and the principles of walking with a new Believer until prayer and the Word of God (plus other essential truths) are at the very centre of the Believer’s lifestyle.
A new Christian MUST become quickly convinced, about the uniqueness of the Bible. that God actually lives in it, God’s very breath is in every page and every word. 2 Timothy 3:16 AMP N.T. Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),
The PASSION Translation says Every Scripture has been written by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness.
The MESSAGE Bible says Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way.
So a new Believer needs immediately to be taught and trained how to:
READ the Bible
MEMORISE the Bible
STUDY the Bible
MEDITATE on the word of God
It was the Word of God that caused us to be born again 1 Peter 1:23 AMP N.T. You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal, BY THE EVER LIVING AND LASTING WORD OF GOD.
The MESSAGE Bible says Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself!

The Word of God has so many functions it wants to perform in our lives:
- It has a CLEANSING MINISTRY Eph. 5:26 NKJV that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, we thank God for the cleansing power of the Blood of Jesus, may we learn to experience the CLEANSING POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD
- So often we need GUIDANCE in decision making and fulfilling the will of God, so the Bible is one major way we can find the answer we are seeking.
- So often we need WISDOM too, again, the Bible is a great source of wisdom for us.
- There are times of sadness an hurt and rejection and the Bible will give us COMFORT.
- The Bible is the source of MUCH BLESSING as we spend time reading it.
- The Bible is describes a “bread” it is our spiritual food and drink, that will cause us to GROW. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 2:2 NLT Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, and then we must go on and learn to eat the meat of God’s Word Heb. 5:14 KJV But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern BOTH GOOD AND EVIL . The NLT says Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between RIGHT AND WRONG TRUTH and ERROR)The MESSAGE Bible says solid food is for the mature, who have some practice in telling right from wrong.
- The Word of God is the source of FAITH Rom. 10:17 NKJV So then FAITH comes by hearing, and hearing by the word (Rhema) of God.
- The Rhema Word brings ILLUMNATION & REVELATION, and is life changing, and this can be our experience DAILY.
In what is called the Lord’s prayer we pray GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, and the only reason we don’t receive is we DON’T ASK. James 4:2 NKJV Yet you do not have because you do not ask. Let us start asking for our daily bread.
SO WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO ?
Joshua 1:8 NKJV This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall MEDITATE in it day and night, that you may OBSERVE to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way PROSPEROUS, and then you will have good SUCCESS.
The MESSAGE Bible says And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. PONDER & MEDITATE on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed.
We must learn afresh the art of MEDITATION and we will see THE WORD WORK IN US AND THROUGH US.
Psalm 32:8 NKJV says I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
