A WORD TO PASTORS & PREACHERS

My hearts is stirred today about what I consider a very important matter. Paul speaking to the Elders from Ephesus in Acts 20:27 NKJV states For I have not shunned to declare to you the WHOLE counsel of God.
The NLT expresses it this way For I didn’t shrink from declaring ALL that God wants you to know.
I have highlighted the words WHOLE and ALL, as I am feeling more and more we are not preaching a BALANCED MESSAGE to Believers. Many of the new choruses and songs that are being sung these days are very much the message and emphasis of the churches where they were written, and they are not expressing balanced Biblical truth as I understand it.
Jesus in Luke 4:43 NLT declares I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God in other towns, too, we know the Gospel is the GOOD NEWS and we must make sure when we preach to Christians we are proclaiming THE RULE OF THE KING IN THE LIFE OF THE BELIEVER.
Paul writing to young Pastor Timothy in 2 Tim. 4:2 NLT Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently CORRECT, REBUKE, and ENCOURAGE your people with good teaching.
Paul writing to the Colossians in 1:28 AMP N.T. tells us Him we preach and proclaim, warning and admonishing everyone and instructing everyone in all wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God), that we may present every person mature (full-grown, fully initiated, complete, and perfect) in Christ (the Anointed One).
The NLT expresses it this way “So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ”.
I will simply list(from the text) what is the Preacher’s responsibility and goal every time   he preaches to the Believers, that they will become:
MATURE
FULLY GROWN
INITIATED
COMPLETE
PERFECT
That is why Paul said to Timothy that we need to CORRECT, REBUKE AND ENCOURAGE God’s people.
There seems to me much more teaching and preaching on, “we fail the Lord so often, but God is always faithful and will forgive us a thousand times”. (as expressed in many of the new songs around) Yes praise God that is true, thank God for His grace to us to forgive us, but are we preaching as much OR EVEN MORE on God’s grace to empower us to live in victory and in purity.
Like the majority of Christians I sure knew when I was born again, but NO ONE CAME ALONG SIDE OF ME AND DISCIPLED ME TO ASSIST ME TO BECOME A VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN. As a fifteen year old I clearly received a call to Ministry, but for many years my Christian life (even in the ministry) was like the Australian Stock Exchange, up one day and down the next. I thank God I eventually got the “message” and saw the need of Biblical Discipleship, I TRULY WONDER HOW MANY OF OUR PASTORS HAVE REALLY BEEN DISCIPLED. That is (not a 6 week class) but someone walking with the new Believer for how ever long it takes to make being a Christian a constant lifestyle.
A new Christian needs to know and practice :
THE ESSENTIALS INGREDIENTS TO DAILY PRAYER.
WHAT ARE THE WEAPONS THAT WE NEED TO CAST DOWN SINFUL THOUGHTS AND PROTECT OUR MIND FROM THE ATTACKS OF THE EVIL ONE?
WHAT IS THE BELIEVERS INHERITANCE NOW, NOT JUST IN ETERNITY.
Teaching these awesome truths in a class once  WILL NOT GROW A VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN, SOMEONE MUST WALK WITH HIM UNTIL IT BECOMES A LIFESTYLE.
That is why Paul goes on when speaking to the Ephesians Elders in Acts 20:28 AMP NT Take care and BE ON GUARD FOR YOURSELVES AND THE WHOLE FLOCK over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you bishops and guardians, to shepherd (tend and feed and guide) the church of the Lord or of God which He obtained for Himself [buying it and saving it for Himself] with His own blood.
The MESSAGE Bible says “Now it’s up to you. Be on your toes—both for yourselves and your congregation of sheep. The Holy Spirit has put you in charge of these people—God’s people they are—to guard and protect them. God himself thought they were worth dying for.
Pastors and Preachers, we need to guard ourselves (our hearts and minds). AND THE FLOCK OF GOD.
Do you have a Mentor who speaks into your life ? Not just someone you admire (from a distance) but someone you love and trust and you will receive and appropriate what they say to you.
Do you have some spiritual sons who you walk with and Mentor? We have diluted the truth of Discipleship so much, particularly because it is physically impossible to do it all yourselves, and revert to a class, WE MUST RAISE UP MANY DISCIPLEMAKERS, remember we must walk with them (for as long as it takes) so that  being a victorious Christian  is a constant lifestyle. Thank God for social media like WhatsApp and WhatsApp video etc to assist us.
