2020 A SPECIAL YEAR
I prayerfully prepare a short WhatsApp message at least once a week to send to about 250 Ministries and Leaders around the world, This is what I wrote yesterday.
I have this quiet confidence and anticipation in my spirit that 2020 is going to be a special year of blessing and of the Lord’s favour. I don’t just feel it for myself, but as much for you to, and I will be thanking and praising God in faith for this in you and in your ministry.
There is a Scottish saying “It is better felt than telt”. naturally speaking I have no grounds for my WhatsApp message, except the witness of the Holy Spirit within. This is one of those times when I have nothing to go on, other than this witness, and God’s promises that he wants to bless His people and continue to build His Church through us.
Sadly, when we look at our world at this time, with wars, and floods and droughts Volcanoes exploding and catastrophic bushfires and the list goes on and on there is nothing positive happening in our world.
Sadly, when we look at much of the Church around the world, it could be described as a Nero while Rome burns.
Does the Word of God tell us God wants to pour out His Spirit on the earth? I believe it does. Is there to be a great ingathering before the Lord returns? Again I want to believe for a great revival in these last days.
Right from this first week in this new year and decade, let us do some spiritual housekeeping.
1.Is there a need for the Church to Repent ? YES, YES, YES Acts 3:19 NKJV Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Jesus speaking to Church at Ephesus in Rev. 3:1-6 NKJV had this to say.
“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Sardis. This is the message from the one who has the sevenfold Spirit of God and the seven stars:
“I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive—but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God. Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief.
“Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.
“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.
2.Is it time to PRAY YES,YES, YES. See how the early Church prayed. Acts 4: 24-31 NLT all the believers lifted their voices together in prayer to God: “O Sovereign Lord, Creator of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— you spoke long ago by the Holy Spirit through our ancestor David, your servant, saying,
‘Why were the nations so angry?
Why did they waste their time with futile plans?
The kings of the earth prepared for battle;
the rulers gathered together
against the Lord
and against his Messiah.’
“In fact, this has happened here in this very city! For Herod Antipas, Pontius Pilate the governor, the Gentiles, and the people of Israel were all united against Jesus, your holy servant, whom you anointed. But everything they did was determined beforehand according to your will. And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
Here are some keys to make 2020 an unforgettable year.
PRAYER,PRAISE, THANKSGIVING & WORSHIP, and when you don’t know how to pray, pray in the Spirit, Rom 8:26 NKJV .
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered INCLUDING USING YOUR PRAYER LANGUAGE.
LIFT UP THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
CLAIM THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT TO PREACH THE WORD OF GOD WITH BOLDNESS
EXPECT SIGNS & WONDERS AND HEALING TO FOLLOW THE PREACHING Mark 16:20 NKJV And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.
REMEMBER BY POWER OF ATTORNEY, USE “THE NAME OF JESUS”.
BE FILLED AND CONTINUALLY FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
LET US DO WHAT ACTS 2:47 SAYS praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
As we co-operate with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, this will be a never to be forgotten year amen
