WE DON'T HAVE TO STUMBLE & FALL

By John Ollis

Margaret loves all forms of craft including cross stitch and we have a lovely reminder of her artistic craftwork in what is called a Sampler  hanging on the wall in our Lounge Room as she has stitched the words from Jude 24.
The AMP. N.T. tells us in Jude 24-25 Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling or slipping or falling, and to present [you] unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation [with unspeakable, ecstatic delight]—
To the one only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might and dominion, and power and authority, before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity). Amen (so be it).
We are living in a generation where I think sadly the emphasis is much  more about asking for forgiveness after we have stumbled and fallen, and not what is our rightful inheritance, that GOD IS ABLE TO KEEP US WITHOUT STUMBLING OR SLIPPING OR FALLING. John Piper has this awesome statement The Grace of God is not just for forgiveness but is power to live above sin.
This is why Biblical Discipleship is so important, that someone shares with us EVERYTHING THAT IS IN THE WILL WITH OUR NAME ON IT.  It is not that we cannot sin, but WE NEED NOT SINThat when Jesus died on the Cross He not only dealt with the “sin question” so that now when God looks at us He doesn’t see our sin He sees Jesus. And that through Christ’s death we have available to us the power to live above sin, and walk in purity and power. That is why someone must walk with us until this has become a personal revelation and a daily personal experience.
Jude goes on and puts the spotlight on the source JESUS and let us continually give Him all the praise and glory for this awesome inheritance we have.
I am so glad that men like Calvin and Luther had to say they needed to remind God’s people  continually because we so easily forget and can want to slip back into our old ways. So I unashamedly highlight this truth afresh today,
i do not need to stumble
I do not need to slip
I do not need to fall
By the Grace of God I can live and walk in victory over sin  and live a life that is that is well-pleasing to God.
So please don’t say ho hum and stop reading this blog, let the Holy Spirit make this truth ever more real to you, and recognising without Him you can do nothing, but with Him YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS AMEN.
