PUTTING A SPOTLIGHT ON OTHERS (Lenten15)

By John Ollis

Let us change the focus today, from our reflection on the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and all that it makes available to us, and concentrate on OTHERS.
Here in Australia we have been blighted by major droughts for some years, then we had the devastating bushfires that burnt up tens of millions of hectares of land particularly in Eastern Australia. Then at last the drought broke and we have had massive flooding. Then over 100 nations are now being impacted by the Coronavirus.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE WORLD?

Our Sovereign God is not in the least surprised, He has permitted these things to happen for a purpose, and I am sure it is for His creation to recognise their sinful, rebellious state and come to Him. Sadly, it has caused panic and crazy alarmist shopping for goods, and of course tremendous fear of catching the virus, but little concern for their spiritual lives.

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT?

Margaret was reminded this morning  of the words spoken about Queen Esther in Esther 4:14 NKJV And who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
We are alive and well in March 2020, because of God’s Hand upon our life, and there may be many things we cannot do, BUT WE CAN PRAY AND INTERCEDE FOR THE NATIONS.
We can pray that the WILL OF GOD SHALL BE DONE
We can pray the Holy Spirit would CONVICT OF SIN, AND  LACK OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUDGEMENT.
We can pray, that we will be sensitive when people come across our path, and that we can SHARE A WORD IN SEASON.
We can pray that our lives always REFLECTS THE PEACE OF GOD RULING IN US.
We often  spend a lot of time in PETITION (praying for ourselves) let us take this opportunity  during Lent to spend time in INTERCESSION.
The Apostle John reminds us of an awesome truth, that MUST BECOME A GREATER REVELATION AND REALITY IN OUR LIVES  in 1 John 5:14-15  AMP.N.T. And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.
The MESSAGE says: And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening. And if we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours.
Meditate on these 2 verses, let them become a Rhema word to us, and may I suggest to you that you then begin praying for the 4 items I have listed, and let us believe together, to see a harvest of many people coming to the Lord, this could change the face of our nation Amen
