By John Ollis

Recently, I have written blogs about LITTLE FOXES THAT SPOIL THE VINES (Things that stop the flow of the Spirit). And THE BIRDS THAT FLY AROUND YOUR HEAD. (Sinful thoughts). You can’t stop the thoughts comings but you can stop them NESTING IN YOUR MIND.
These blogs have been born out of personal experience, and it has been a interesting journey thus far, as I have been  praying much that the moments the “foxes” and “birds” appear, I would recognise them and deal with them. They can be very sneaky and subtle and have started to do some damage before I (we) recognise them.
Without a doubt every one of us, will have our specific “birds and foxes”  but many are the usual for all of us.
Things Like:
I have been using the regular WEAPONS OF WARFARE against them like:

  • The Blood of Jesus
  •  The Name of Jesus
  •  The Sword of the Spirit (The Rhema Word of God)

As Paul commands us to do in 2 Cor. 19:4-5 AMP.N.T. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of STRONGHOLDS,
[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),
MESSAGE The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
Paul uses the word STRONGHOLDS, which suggests to me, the activity  probably started pre-conversion (and without Biblical Discipleship) continued post-conversion, thus it takes much effort to cast down and break these things.
As I was praying yesterday, the Holy Spirit strongly reminded me of Romans 8:26-27 NLT And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together.
Perhaps the greatest weapon we have is PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT, we do not know what the will of God is in so matters but the Holy Spirit does, SPEAKING IN TONGUES MUST BECOME A DAILY LIFESTYLE, not just in:
When Margaret came in from a meeting yesterday, I shared with her, what I felt I had received, she immediately quoted Rom. 8:26-27 to me, I felt it was a real confirmation and reminder.
I made the statement yesterday, that as we are going on this Lenten journey, if we embrace the truths the Holy Spirit shows us or reminds us of, WE ARE SETTING OURSELVES UP FOR A DEEPER WALK WITH THE LORD, WHICH WILL TAKE US TO A NEW LIVE OF INTIMACY WITH THE lORD.
