ARE YOU "RICHER THAN A MILLIONAIRE"? (Lenten 18)
Over 150 years ago 2 gold prospectors stumbled on a piece of gold just 3cm. below the surface, it weighed over 97kg., it would be valued today at over US$3.4 million dollars. I can see these 2 men jumping and dancing for joy, they were going to be permanently rich for the rest of their lives.
I am reminded today of Psalm 119:162 NLT “I rejoice in your word like one who finds a great treasure”.
PASSION Your promises are the source of my bubbling joy; the revelation of your Word thrills me.
MESSAGE I’m ecstatic over what you say, like one who strikes it rich.
As Lent is a time of REFLECTION, let us consider the Psalmist’s words.
- How excited are we about the Word of God?
- Is our attitude “I simply can’t wait to read and meditate on the Word of God TODAY
- Do I expect to hear from God EVERY DAY when I spend time in the Word of God?
I have to be brutally honest with you today, and say, that is not always my experience, so I regularly pray “LORD INCREASE MY HUNGER FOR YOUR WORD”.\
If my love and appetite increases for the Word of God during this Lenten journey, then I am setting myself up, for real growth and development during this coming year.
I want to experience all that the Psalmist declares in Psalm 92: 12-15 KJV
The righteous shall FLOURISH like the palm tree:
he shall GROW like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those that be PLANTED in the house of the Lord
shall FLOURISH in the courts of our God.
They shall still bring forth FRUIT in old age;
they shall be FAT AND FLOURISHING;
To shew that the Lord is upright:
he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
So may I encourage you with me to continue to pray LORD INCREASE MY HUNGER FOR YOUR WORD, and confess you are going to:
FLOURISH (2)
GROW
You will be PLANTED deeper in the local church
MUCH FRUIT IN YOUR SENIOR YEARS
YOU WILL BE SPIRITUALY FAT AND FLOURISHING
Will you constantly pray this prayer with me, I trust you will.
