EMBRACING GOD'S PLAN (Lenten 23)
Further to my thoughts on getting and deepening a vision as we journey through Lent, I am reminded of a glorious promise from the Lord found in Jeremiah 29:11 I will spell it out in different translations, as there is so much fantastic truth here in this single verse.
AMP. O.T. For I know the THOUGHTS and PLANS that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for WELFARE and PEACE and not for evil, to give you HOPE in your final outcome.
NKJV For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a and a hope.
NLT For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and NOT FOR DISASTER, to give you a future and a hope.
MESSAGE I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, NOT TO ABANDON YOU, plans to give you the future you hope for.
What an awesome promise God gives us here, but let us remind ourselves we are not PUPPETS ON A STRING, we must make a constant decision that GOD’S PLAN/S FOR ME, ARE THE PLANS I WANT FULFILLED IN MY LIFE TOTALLY.
Once again, let me remind you we must learn the LIFE OF SURRENDER, and the prayer of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane must be our prayer NOT MY WILL BUT THY WILL BE DONE. I must learn to constantly present my body to the Lord (Rom.12:1) I want my body and my life to be an INSTRUMENT IN THE LORD’S HANDS, for Him to do whatever He wants to do in my life.
Let’s look at this promise:
- GOD IS ALWAYS THINKING ABOUT ME
- GOD HAS UNIQUE PLANS FOR MY LIFE
- THE PLANS ARE FOR MY PEACE
- THE PLANS ARE FOR MY WELFARE
- THE PLANS ARE TO GIVE ME A HOPE
- THE PLANS ARE POSITIVE NOT TO CREATE A DISISTER
- THE PLANS ARE NOT TO ABANDON ME AND MAKE ME AN ORPHAN
WHAT A GOD WE LOVE AND SERVE
So in relation to our developing vision, let us not forget James’ words in 4:2 NKJV you do not have because you do not ask. Let us ask the Lord to help us to CO-OPERATE with Him even we when don’t understand, He knows best, His plans are beyond our wildest dreams, and they will come to pass. So often as we receive revelation at this time from the Word of God and as we listen to that “still small voice” of the Holy Spirit within, and commit to obey them, we are co-operating with the Lord to see HIS PLAN fulfilled in us.
