A SUGGESTED WAY TO DO “ACTS OF MERCY (Lenten 36)

By John Ollis

I had this idea yesterday (I won’t sound super spiritual and suggest it came from the Lord) that I should look at the list of friends from around the world who are in my WhatsApp list on my phone (I have nearly 350). I asked the Lord to impress upon me  those that especially needed a simple word of encouragement. I ended up sending the message to over 40 people.

So, I simply sent a Broadcast Message, “HI, how are you ? Are you ok”? I was flooded by responses within minutes many were really struggling. I responded to each one individually praying as I wrote that I could encourage and bless them with my words.

At this momentous time in our world there may be few ways we can give “Acts of Mercy” as part of our Lenten Journey as well, but here is a simple way that has worked for me.

The writer to Hebrews reminds us in Hebrews 3:13 PASSION This is the time to encourage each other.

I thank God for the awesome development of technology, that I can write a message, and within seconds it has gone around the world, may I suggest to you, as you ponder how you can make “Acts of Mercy” keep technology alive in your mind, and use it to be a blessing to others.
