LET THIS WEEK BE A ‘SUDDENLY” WEEK (Lenten 39)
Have you watched a church service “on line” today? I have and was greatly blessed by the preaching of God’s Word. Today in our Lenten Journey we commence Holy Week and on this day Jesus rode into Jerusalem and a multitudeS of people expressed their adoration and joy to Jesus by crying out HOSANNAH which means “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord”.
I said in my last blog, that even though we so often roll off the altar of surrender the Lord still comes in the midst of our discouragement and frustRation and “invades” our world with His presence and blessing. I don’t understand it, and I sure do not deserve it, but am so thankful He does. These are what I call A SUDDENLY EXPERIENCE, like on the Day of Pentecost we read in Acts 2 :2 NKJV And SUDDENLY there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
Or like the woman with the “issue of blood” she reached out and touched the hem of the Lord’s garment and SUDDENLY healing virtue flowed into her body anD she was completely healed.
During Holy Week, I want to encourage you to be prepared to have A SUDDENLY EXPERIENCE, when you least expect it, believe God will INVADE your world and you will have a GOD EXPERIENCE that will change your life FOREVER.
I have a lovely worship cd that is almost permanently playing in my car’s cd player, and there are so many songs on it that really blesses me. One that is very much on my heart at the moment has these words:
Lord I’m HUNGRY for a mighty move of God
Lord I’m THIRSTY pour out your Holy Ghost
Lord I want to SEE the Hand of God move mightily inside of me
I’m HUNGRY for a move of God.
I have highlighted a number of words. that I pray is the expression of your heart, if mot, Let us ask the Lord to:
INCREASE OUR HUNGER FOR HIM
INCREASE OUR THIRST FOR HIM Psalm 42:1 NLT As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you O God.
HAVE OUR EYES OPENED TO SEE THE LORD WORKING IN US
You may not know this simple song, but can I encourage you to pray these words out every day, and often during the day, and believe when you least expect it GOD WILL GIVE YOU A SUDDENLY EXPERIENCE.
