OUR EVER FAITHFUL GOD (Lenten 38)

By John Ollis

After I had completed my last blog, I began to think about the fact, that despite my inconsistencies and lack of full surrender and even heart backsliding, the Lord is never very far away, and often will “invade” my world suddenly and unexpectantly with His awesome refreshing presence.

I am so glad our God does not act and respond as a human being, my finite mind is overwhelmed by His gracious love to me.

I am reminded of Paul’s words to his spiritual son Timothy in 2 Tim. 2:13 AMP.N.T. If we are faithless [do not believe and are untrue to Him], He remains true (FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD AND CHARACTER), for He cannot deny Himself.

The Apostle John in 1 John 1:9 AMP. N.T. expresses it this way in the context of confession and forgiveness. f we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, HE IS FAITHFUL and just (TRUE TO HIS OWN NATURE AND PROMISES and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].

Even though we do not deserve it OUR GOD IS THE SAME YESTERDAY TODAY AND FOREVER AND THIS INCLUDED HIS UNCHANGING NATURE.

Can you take this all in? I sure can’t, but I am so thankful to God for His unchanging nature.

Let us shout from the rooftops, Lam. 3:22-23 AMP. O.T.It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.

MESSAGE God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, His merciful love couldn’t have dried up, they’re created new every morning, How great your FAITHFULNESS.

Although our experience has been that we have failed the Lord  ten thousand times, I sincerely believe there is a higher level that we must seek to attain. During this Lenten Journey I am going to make a fresh commitment and declare with the Apostle Paul in Phil. 3:13-14 NLT No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I PRESS on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Let us not only make this commitment to the Lord, but to each other that we will pray regularly for each other, that we move to higher level of surrender and victory and purity amen.
