ARE YOU EXPERIENCING GOD’S SO GREAT SALVATION?
Every morning during my prayer time I always seek to remember to thank the Lord for what the writer of the Book of Hebrews calls GOD’S SO GREAT SALVATION. I will never forget the day as a 10 year old boy when under the Holy Spirit’s prompting and enabling I prayed “God be merciful to me a sinner”. My life was changed from that day, when “old things passed away, and everything became new”. When I was translated “out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God’s dear son”, the Lord Jesus Christ.
If we are are honest when we think of God’s “so great” Salvation we immediately think of the day we received forgiveness for our sins, and our names were written in “the Lamb’s Book of Life”. I have come to see GOD’S SO GREAT SALVATION IS SO MUCH MORE THAN SIMPLY RECEIVING THAT INITIAL FORGIVENESS.
The moment we were born again our POSITION BEFORE GOD changed.
Paul says in :
Col. 2:10 NKJV You are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Eph. 1:11NKJV we have obtained an INHERITANCE, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
Peter says in 2 Peter 1:3 NKJV His divine power has GIVEN to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
Our Salvation has been described like this:
THE THREE TENSES OF SALVATION
Past tense: SEPERATION FROM THE PENALTY OF SIN
Present tense SEPERATION FROM THE POWER OF SIN
Future tense SEPERATION FROM THE PRESENCE OF SIN
I wonder how many Believers are ignorant of what God’s (total) SO GREAT SALVATION entails. To me this ever reinforces the essential need of Biblical Discipleship that should start immediately a person is born again, if you have never been Discipled seek out a Disciple-Maker/Mentor as soon as possible) . I sure didn’t know when I was born again that I had received what Paul calls AN INHERITANCE, that gave me the THE KEYS, THE TOOLS, THE WEAPONS, to enable me to live above sin. Many Believers only find out years later (and some never) that they can live and walk in victory and purity and holiness before the Lord.
I am sure there must be stories of people who had a love one die, but was never informed that he was mentioned in the will and sadly he eventually DIES A PAUPER, never knowing what was available to him to live a prosperous happy secure life. Yet the Body of Christ is filled with Believers living as paupers because of their ignorance of the glorious inheritance THAT IS AVAIALBLE TO THEM NOW..
So the first step is for a New Believer to be informed OF WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE WILL , and then be assisted to appropriate (make real and personal what is rightfully his) and fully make use of his inheritance. THIS IS BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP.
To receive and enjoy our inheritance we must fulfil the requirements of the Testator (the one who wrote the Will). Rom. 12:1 NKJV is the primary key to unlocking the inheritance.
AMP. N.T. I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.
N.L.T. Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.
MESSAGE So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
To experience ALL THE BENEFITS OF OUR INHERITANCE, JESUS MUST BE 24/7
Of our lives, and the role of a Disciple-Maker/Mentor is such an important key in this life long process.
To enjoy our inheritance we must know what the Word of God says, as I conclude this blog today I am going to ask you a question WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?????
In my next blog I will tell you what Paul tells us what we must learn to wear.
I unashamedly write about the need of Biblical Discipleship trusting more and more of God’s people will embrace this important truth.
