GOD IS GIVING US A WAKE UP CALL.

My readers would have noticed that I have not posted a blog for 16 days, the reason being that with the restrictions being lifted we could cross our State border, and go to a couple of coastal towns for a much needed break. The only strenuous thing we did was the driving. We literally rested and enjoyed God’s creation, and took the opportunity to wait on the Lord. The trip was both physically and spiritually refreshing.

I have written numerous times this year during the pandemic emphasizing God’s Sovereignty and His awesome attribute of OMNISCIENCE (all seeing and all knowing). Our God saw the pandemic in eternity past, and permitted it in 2020 for His eternal purposes for His creation, and for His chosen children wants to use it for our good, Rom. 8:28 NKJV And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

History is replete with situations that I believe God has used to cause His people to respond to His plans for our good. One illustration that stands out to me, is the persecution that came upon the early Church in Jerusalem and all the Believers (except the Apostles) were scattered abroad. Luke tells us that the Believers on their journey continually “gossiped” the Gospel as they went. Christianity could have simply become a “Jewish sect” in Jerusalem, unless the Believers had fulfilled Acts 1:8 after they were filled wit the Spirit in Acts 2:4. Jesus said But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all JUDEA and SAMARIA, and to THE ENDS OF THE EARTH..”

I have said all the above to highlight, that God wants to use the pandemic for our GOOD, yet my concern is I am seeing so little desire for change within the Church. Denominational Leaders do not seem to be calling God’s people to REPENTANCE AND CHANGE. Local Pastors do not seem to be calling their people to prayer. very few individual believers seem to see God’s hand in it all. There are a few movements that have been speaking out, one I am aware of called NATIONAL DAY OF REPENTANCE that has been sounding a clarion call to Believers to repent..

As restrictions here in Australia seem to be reducing by the day, very little seems to be changing spiritually. Many believers have indicated that they will simply keep watching church “on line” and not return to “physical” services”.

Has the evil one so blinded the eyes of so many Believers, that they continue to live with compromise and not seeking or maintaining A SPIRIT OF REPENTANCE, surely it is time TO RETURN TO THE OLD PATHS, of holy victorious living and fulfilling the Great Commission.

I am not writing as a “grumpy old man” I am very aware of my sinful nature and as Paul writes in 1 Cor. 9:27 NKJV But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

N.L.T. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

MESSAGE I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.

This I am seeking to do, sadly not always successfully, please pray for me, as I spend time time praying for the many in my world.

My prayer is that God’s people will see God wants to use this pandemic for our spiritual good, and they will seek Him like never before amen.
