WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE (3)

By John Ollis

In the early 60’s at our church’s annual Christmas camp we had an African American singer called Archie Dennis come and he sang a song that I have never forgotten it was taken from a verse in Psalm 37., I don’t remember ever reading the verse before, and as I am now in my senior years, I have come to appreciate and love this verse very much, and can agree 100% with King David’s words, found in Psalm 37:24 NKJV I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.
N.L.T Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.
PASSION I was once young, but now I’m old. Not once have a found a lover of God forsaken by Him, nor have any of their children gone hungry.
MESSAGE I once was young, now I’m a graybeard—not once have I seen an abandoned believer, or his kids out roaming the streets.
Like King David, I can speak from personal experience, after almost 70 years as a believer, and (now nearly 80 and grey haired) can echo the words of the Apostle Paul in Phil. 4:19 NKJV My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

I speak not only personally, but as a parent, our children know the blessing of God upon their lives and so with our grandchildren.

TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY AMEN.
