LIVING & WALKING IN THE ANOINTING.
There is no doubt as a Christian and a Minister of the Gospel, I have lived a very sheltered life, but I am becoming ever more aware of the sinfulness and corruption that is in our world, and that JESUS AND GOD’S SO GREAT SALVATION IS THE ONLY ANSWER.
I am also so aware that Christians are God’s Messengers and the channels to bring this answer to a lost and dying world. and we must let the Holy Spirit work in us and through us to fulfil the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20 NKJV) All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
The Apostle John tells is in 1 John 2: 20 & 27 that every born again Believer has received the ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, not just to make us “feel” good, but to equip us to fulfil God’s plan through us.
PASSION V.20 But the Holy One has anointed you and you all know the truth.
N.L.T. v.27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
In Isaiah 10:27 KJV we read The yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. As we pass this verse through the Cross ands apply New Covenant principles to it, God wants to use us through the ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ABIDING IN US to see people set free from the power of sin.
We see this glorious truth fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus went into the synagogue in Nazareth and was handed the scroll to read, and it was from the Book of Isaiah 61:1. We read it in Luke 4:18-19 NKJV. The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor, He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
Let us look at it in other translations:
AMP.N.T. The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity],
To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound.
PASSION “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, freedom for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.”
MESSAGE God’s Spirit is on me; He’s chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor, sent me to announce pardon to the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the burdened and battered free, to announce “This is God’s year to act”. chosen me t
You may say, there are some things on that list I could not do, Doesn’t Jesus in Mark 16: 17-18 NKJV say these signs will follow those who believe: IN MY NAME they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Jesus does not say, if you are an Apostle or an ordained Minister, but to EVERY BELIEVER, We have a revelation that God has delegated to us the authority to use THE NAME OF JESUS, against sin then let us be obedient to the Christ’s command.
In the AMP N.T. it is spelt out so well, the anointing resting upon us is to minister to the down trodden, bruised, crushed and broken down by calamity, out tv news and life programs tell us our world is full of these people, some may even be our neighbors, and work colleagues.
The Word of God tells us in Gal. 5:25 NKJV If we LIVE in the Spirit, let us also WALK in the Spirit, Paul tells the Ephesians in 5:18-21 NKJV but be filled (CONTINUALLY) with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.
We are surely in the last days before Jesus returns, let us so live in the ANONTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT that we see the yoke of sin broken off people’s lives.
Let us say with the Psalmist in 92:10 I have been anointed with fresh oil TODAY amen.
