BELIEVING THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
As a teenager someone who was 70+years was old, and I wondered if I would reach that “grand old age” well in less than two weeks I will be 80 years old, I guess physically I have to concede that my body is feeling the effects of the aging process, but in my mind I do not “feel” 80.
I wrote a blog recently entitled “A Transition within a transition” and saying that as I approach my 80th birthday I want to move to a higher level of effectiveness and fruitfulness for the Kingdom of God, and am praying (and would appreciate your prayers) that the Lord would show me ways for me to see this happen.
Verse that really blest me recently, and I believe the Holy Spirit “quickened them to my spirit” is Psalm 91:15-16 NKJV He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him, with long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation.
PASSION I will answer your cry for help every time you pray,
and you will find and feel my presence
even in your time of pressure and trouble.
I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast.
You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you.
For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”
N.L.T. When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.”
MESSAGE Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”
My responsibility is to cry out and ask the Lord, and to be convinced (whether I “feel” it or not) that GOD IS WITH ME, AND HEARING ME, AND HE WILL DELIVER ME AND ANSWER MY PRAYER.
I looked at verse 16 and thought, I wonder how old the Psalmist was when the Lord spoke to him, he sure wouldn’t have been 80 years old, I notice one of the translations use the words FULL LIFE, and I am claiming that too, however long it will be, that in this “transition within a transition”, there is going to be MUCH FRUITFULNESS AND EFFECTIVENESS FOR TRHE KINGDOM OF GOD.
