DO YOU WANT TO DO GREAT THINGS FOR THE LORD?
The burden of my heart at this time is to be more fruitful and more effective in my service in the Kingdom of God. I am reminded of the glorious promise in Daniel 11:32 AMP.O.T. the people who KNOW their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do EXPLOITS [for God].
NKJV the people who KNOW their God shall be strong, and carry out GREAT EXPLOITS.
The first and most important key if we want to be more fruitful and effective in the Kingdom of God is to INTIMATELY KNOW THE LORD. Paul declares in Phil. 3:10 PASSION And I continually long to know the wonders of Jesus more fully and to experience the overflowing power of his resurrection working in me. I will be one with him in his sufferings and I will be one with him in his death. Only then will I be able to experience complete oneness with him in his resurrection from the realm of death.
N.L.T. I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!
MESSAGE I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself. If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it.
The Holy Spirit is calling Believers to deepen their intimacy with the Lord, James 4:8 N.K.J.V. challenges us to “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” We must make a constant act of our will, and at times fight our flesh to do this. Jesus reminded His disciples and tells us in Matt.6:33 NKJV Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
AMP.N.T. But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right),
PASSION So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.
MESSAGE Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.
To seek God’s Kingdom, is to constantly seek the rule of the King of Kings (over our lives), learning to live the surrendered life, and greater fruitfulness and effectiveness will surely follow.
I am reminded of the words of Jesus in John 14:12-14 NKJV Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
AMP.N.T. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.
And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.
[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM].
PASSION I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name. And that is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to him. Ask me anything in my name, and I will do it for you!”
N.L.T.I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
MESSAGE The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do.
As we deepen our intimacy with the Lord, and our understanding of our inheritance increases, including embracing the power and authority to use the NAME OF JESUS, not for selfish ends but ever to bring glory to God and to extend His Kingdom, then we are promised we can and will do great and even greater things for the Lord.
Is this your heart’s desire? it sure is mine, let us determine to fall more deeply in love with Jesus, walking in surrender and victory and purity, and committing ourselves to spend quality time reading and meditating in the Word of God every day and so letting the Word be quickened to us and letting us walk in that authority that comes from that “quickened” word.
