THIS IS THE LORD’S DAY
The Psalmist declares in Psalm 118:24 NKJV This is the day the Lord has made; we will be glad and rejoice in it.
PASSION This is the very day of the Lord that brings gladness and joy filling our hearts with glee.
MESSAGE This is the very day God acted— let’s celebrate and be festive.
The Psalmist may have been referring to the Jewish Sabbath, but under the New Covenant, EVERY DAY IS THE LORD’S DAY, and we sure have much to be gleeful and festive about.
Let us remind ourselves WE ARE A NEW CREATION, OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY, AND ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW., ALL BECAUSE THE BLOOD OF JESUS HAS CLEANSED US FROM ALL SIN.
What a Saviour, we love and serve, I SHALL NOT BE MOVED.
May we say with King David today in Psalm 16:8 NKJV I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
We cannot help but look at and appreciate today and every day, the beauty of God’s creation, it is a lovely Spring day here today, and I look at the lovely blue sky and fluffy clouds and declare this is the Lord’s Day. but then we must shift our focus onto Jesus and the Father’s SO GREAT SALVATION, and rejoice at God’s great promise HE IS ALWAYS WITH ME AT MY RIGHT HAND, and declare I SHALL NOT BE MOVED.
On my walk this morning I was reminded of another verse from Psalms that has become such a blessing to me over these last few months Psalm 91:14-16 NKJV God declares Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”
N.L.T. The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.”
MESSAGE “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
“I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care
if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”
On this the Lord’s Day, we have this glorious promise, He is at our right hand, (so close), He hears us and delivers us, and has promised us LONG LIFE.
We have so much to rejoice and praise the Lord for today, to all my readers, HAVE A GREAT DAY.
