THANK YOU FATHER, SON & HOLY SPIRIT FOR YOUR “SO GREAT SALVATION” (6)
In my last blog, I wrote about an important section contained in our INHERITANCE in Christ, that is THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD. Let me develop them more in this blog, starting from the head.
THE HELMET OF SALVATION. You may know the saying, “You can’t stop the birds flying around your head, but you can sure stop them nesting in your hair”. We must learn to keep very short accounts with the Lord, and every time we pray ask the Lord to search our hearts, and if He sees any unconfessed sin, ask the Lord for His forgiveness. I daily pray King David’s prayer from Psalm 139:23-24 KJV
Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
The Apostle John writing to Believers declares in 1 John 1:9 KJV If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just (AMP.N.T) (true to His name and nature) to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God is ever true to His Word, and we can claim His forgiveness, and the blood of Jesus washes our heart clean, we must learn to live under the protection of this precious blood. We can then always be ready to do what is promised in James 4:7 KJV. SUBMIT yourselves therefore to God. RESIST the devil, and he will flee from you.
As we walk in SURRENDER we know that we can use THE NAME OF JESUS AGAINSST THE ENEMY AND HE MUST FLEE..
THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTOUSNESS.This piece of armour covers the heart, and we protect our heart by PUTTING ON THE BREASTPLATE, and every piece of this armour The Bible tells us we have been declared righteous, and as we walk in surrender, we protect our heart, Solomon writes much about the heart in Proverbs 4:23 NLT he says Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
THE BELT OR SKIRT OF TRUTH. A belt hold the Breastplate in against the Believer’s body, please note it is the BELT OR SKIRT OF TRUTH, we must know the Word of God (as we will see in other piece of armour). A number of translations speak of having your loins covered with truth, it is interesting this is the reproductive area, I think the Apostle Paul is saying that if we are to stand against the devil (v.13) then we must walk in sexual purity, we live in a sex crazy world, and everyone is barraged with sexual stuff especially through social media etc. we must learn to protect our minds and learn to live in the Word,so that it becomes revelation to us amen.
THE SHIELD OF FAITH, How do we receive FAITH? Paul tells us in Rom. 10:17 NKJV So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Once again, we must be, men and women of the Word, and learn to use the Word of God as a shield.
THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT which is THE WORD OF GOD. In Romans 10:1`7 and Ephesians 6:17 Paul uses the Greek word RHEMA for the word WORD. There are two words in the Greek text for word LOGOS which is the written word and Rhema, which is the QUICKENED WORD, those light bulb moments when the Word becomes alive and personal. One Rhema Word I use often against the evil one is 1 John 4:4 KJV greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Phil.4:13 KJV can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Romans 8:37 KJV we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. MA
For example if these verses have not become a Rhema Word to you, I would encourage you, to spend quality time, meditating on these verses (and many others) that has your name written on them, praying “LORD TURN THE LIGHT ON”, so that when the enemy comes as Peter describes it in 1 Peter 5:8 KJV Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: The enemy knows the Word of God better than us, I somehow think he will simply laugh at us unless we use THER SWORD OF THE SPIRIT WHICH IS THE RHEMA OF GOD.
MAY WE ALL HAVE REGULAR LIGHT BULB MOMENTS
FEET SHOD, This is better expressed in the N.I.V. and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. As we walk in the light we experience what Paul describes in Phil. 4:7 KJV peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. We are ever ready to face the enemy, and knowing we are walking in the will of God because of His glorious peace filling our hearts.
Prayer. That “Intimate communication between two lovers”, an essential piece of the armour if we are to win the battle, let us like the Disciples ask the Lord to TEACH US TO PRAY, and develop that intimate relationship with the Lord.
We know 7 IS THE PERFECT NUMBER, and the Lord has given us a perfect set of equipment so we can live in victory, purity and power.
I don’t ever want to be thought of as someone who is always talking or writing about the devil, but the Bible clearly tells us we have an enemy, and when the eternal Godhead planned our “So great Salvation”, He knew we would need all this equipment to ever be a conqueror.
Once again, it would really help you if you had a Disciple-Maker or Mentor to learn what each piece of armour is and learn to put on and use it.
