LET THE SOVEREIGN LORD WORK IN OUR LIVES EVEN IF HE NEEDS TO SOMETIMES DISCIPLINE US TO TEACH US TO RESPOND TO HIM.

By John Ollis

As a teenager 65+ years ago, some churches, and many Youth Groups would have a “Testimony Time” during their meeting. This is of course ancient history today, but it was good to hear the testimony of people sharing and thanking the Lord for His blessing and goodness on their lives..

Thanksgiving is an essential ingredient in our daily time in prayer with the Lord, but we only in prayer but should do as the Psalmist encourages us in Psalm 107:1-2 NKJV

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord SAY SO,

N.I.V. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out!

MESSAGE Oh, thank God—he’s so good!
His love never runs out.
All of you set free by God, tell the world!
Tell how he freed you from oppression,

Some of my readers know that this year year has been a year filled with pain and difficulty walking. Firstly I thank the Lord that He has opened my heart and mind to HIS SOVEREIGNTY, and that as Rom. 8:28 NKJV declares “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”. That whatever happens to God’s creation is with God’s permission and His purpose for permitting it is for my GOOD.

The writer to Hebrews tells me the that like a father the Lord disciplines His kids so we grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and walk in holiness and victory and purity, Hebrews 12:5-11.

Nerve pain is different to ordinary pain, as it is related to damaged nerves (usually in our spine) but the paincan manifest anywhere in our body, in my case my left knee. After months of trial and error with different medications that had not effect whatsoever, I underwent a procedure that involved inserting some needles (temporarily) into my knee. It is called Percutaneous denervation, after 3 weeks there began to be some minimal improvement which is continuing. The Specialist says it may last for 7 months!! and then another expensive procedure. I really don’t want to go down that track and and believing (and ask for your prayer support that the pain will continue to decrease and I can walk unaided.

So my testimony today is I thank God for the decrease in pain and GIVE GOD ALL THE PRAISE AND GLORY.

The Lord has used the pain to cause me to press into Him, and I want to co-operate with Him more and more that Phil. 1:6 NKJV being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; amen and amen.
