OUR SOVEREIGN GOD IS THE LORD, THE KING, THE BOSS THE MASTER THE PRESIDENT AMEN
Following on from my last post about being hungry for the Word of God and having LIGHTBULB MOMENTS. Some very well known verse have been really QUICKENED to me, these last few months. It is Rom. 8:28-30
N.K.J.V. And we know that aALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He FOREKNEW, He also PREDESTINATED to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also CALLED; whom He called, these He also JUSTIFIED; and whom He justified, these He also GLORIFIED.
AMP. N.T. We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.
And those whom He thus foreordained, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified (acquitted, made righteous, putting them into right standing with Himself). And those whom He justified, He also glorified [raising them to a heavenly dignity and condition or state of being].
N.L.T. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
PASSION So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose. For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him.
Having determined our destiny ahead of time, he called us to himself and transferred his perfect righteousness to everyone he called. And those who possess his perfect righteousness he co-glorified with his Son!
MESSAGE That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.
God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then, after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun.
These verses have been favourites of mine for many years, but the Lord gave me such a LIGHT BULB MOMENT, that I wondered if the truth had ever been a revelation (Rhema) to me, or simply a mental assent to what had been written.
My readers will know that I have been living with pain for about 15 months and nothing has yest shifted it, even though I have been under a pain specialist since January 2022. When I came to see that nothing can happen to me without the Lord’s permission my whole perspective changed. As God is SOVEREIGN has permitted my pain for a purpose which I see in Hebrews 12: 6-11 NKJV
For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Firstly, because God loves me, He has permitted this pain so I would be increasing in partaking of GOD’S HOLINESS AND THE PEACEABLE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUS.
Coming from a Pentecostal background, 15 months ago, I immediately began crying out to God for healing, but when I saw that God had permitted it for a reason I have been seeking the Lord more and more and lertting Him do a work of Grace in my life, and I will thank Him for all eternity for this.
As parents we are not always having to discipline our children, but they often needed to be taught a lesson. I believe I am learning to fulfil Matt. 6:33 NKJV more today than at any time in my life “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”. I believe the time of chastening (Heb.12.) is coming to an end, so I am now meditating on Matt. 7:7-8
NKJV Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
AMP.N.T. Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.
The Amplified emphasises the fact that it was spoken in the Aorist tense PRESENT CONTINUOUS, and daily I am no asking daily (and more often for God’s healing which can come to me in so many ways, including medication or God’s divine intervention.
I read some time ago words spoken by Charles Spurgeon that has really blessed me,
THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD IS THE PILLOW UPON WHICH THE CHILD OF GOD RESTS HIS HEAD AT NIGHT GIVING PERFECT PEACE.
Let me encourage you to meditate on these verses in Romans, may you like me have a LIGHT BULD MOMENT that will be life changing.
