THE CHURCH CAN HAVE A BREAKTHROUGH IN 2025

By John Ollis

My recent blog on having a PERSONAL BREAKTHROUGH in 2025 was well received, and many positive comments. Today’s blog is believing for a CORPORATE BREAKTHROUGH FOR THE CHURCH IN 2025.

This blog I have no doubt will create many responses and I think some of my readers may disagree with the contents.

In recent months there has been this simple question coming up on F.B.

IS THE CHURCH FOUND IN THE NEW TESTAMENT STILL AROUND TODAY ???

It is a good question, and needs much prayerful response in our generation.

Like the Children of Israel in the Old Testament over these past 2000 years since the Church was born there has been numerous times of backsliding and restoration. Often times of rejection of truth and times of returning to truth, that produced times of revival and church growth. Where is the Church and the world at today, Paul writing to the Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 tells us.

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.

Isn’t this a a sad but perfect picture of the day in which we live? Then add all the disasters and wars etc. etc. We are living in desperate days. Surely we are living in the LAST OF THE LAST DAYS? Jesus asks the question in Luke 18:8 Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

Verse 5 in our Timoty verses is a very sad verse, sadly there are many “religious” people around some are in a “church” but many don’t see the need. Heb. 10:25 tells us “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and SO MUCH MORE AS YOU SEE THE DAY APPROACHING”.

Church attendance in many countries have dropped dramatically in the last couple of generations, plus multitudes of churches have closed through lack of attendance.

The majority of the “growing churches” are what are called “contemporary” to attract and cater for a “modern” generation”.

Sadly, there are also some churches that seem to be primarily “Doctrine Centred” seeking to keep “their” doctrines protected, but there is often very little evangelism and outreach. Now, maintaining doctrinal purity is very important (Church History confirms that), and the Holy Spirit wants to lead us into all truth, but the key word is balance WE MUST BE AS CHRIST CENTRED AS WE ARE DOCTRINE CENTRED. When we stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ, we will not be asked, “are you Reformed?, or are you a Arminianist?, are you Pentecostal? We need to declare “OUR NAMES ARE WRITTEN IN THE LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE” Rev.22:27

So what is the message to the CHURCH TODAY IF IT WANTS TO SEE BREAKTHROUGH IN 2025 ???

I believe it is found in 2 Chron. 7:14 If My people who are called by My NAME will HUMBLE THEMSELVES REPENT), and pray and SEEK My face, and TURN from their wicked ways, then I will HEAR from heaven, and will FORGIVE their sin and HEAL their land.

Look at all the words I have capitalized, REPENTANCE must become LIFESTYLE, WE MUST start THINKING DIFFERENTLY and RECONSIDER our situation and seek forgiveness, (I am sure the Lord is bending down right now seeking to hear our prayer) and forgiveness will flow.

My prayer is that EVERY PASTOR & LEADER WILL RECOGNISE our position, and challenge God’s people to seek the Lord, like never before, and keep on asking. Hear the words of Jesus in Matt. 7:7 Amp. N.T. KEEP on ASKING and it will be given you; KEEP on seeking and you will find; KEEP on knocking [reverently] and [the door] WILL BE OPENEDTO YOU.
8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.

Yes, the CHURCH IN 2025 can have a BREAKTHROUGH, but we must come God’s way.

Lord help us to REPENT, CO-OPERATE WITH HIM AND HIS WORD, AND DISCIPLINE OURSELVES, and what we read in Ma. 3:10 I will not open for you the windows of heaven, And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.
