TO BE OR NOT TO BE, THAT IS THE QUESTION?

By John Ollis

I guess in every country’s language there are slang words that have developed over the years, that are really only understood by the “locals”. Australia is no exception to this phenomena, there is one particular slang that has been ringing in my heart recently, it is the words FAIR DINKUM. Its history is unimportant, but its meaning is:

SOMEONE WHO IS GENUINE AND SINCERE

SOMETHING THAT IS GENUINE WITHOUT AN ALLOY

I want to combine these two thought and apply them to what we should be (and can be) as a born again Believer.
SOMEONE WHO IS SINCERE AND GENUINE, IS NOT A HYPOCRITE A PERSON WHO SEEKS  NOT TO HAVE “MIXTURE” IN THEIR LIFESTYLE
I wrote yesterday about our “constant companion” our sinful nature and bias to sin, and how we need to make SURRENDER A LIFESTYLE, without that we will never be “fair dinkum”
I guess there have been numerous times in our Christian walk when we have felt like a “hypocrite” (someone just acting out a part on a stage), we have learnt  the right words andwhat to say and when to say them, but we know there is no ring of reality in them, as our heart is cold.
The bigger challenge (at least for me) is to deal with the “mixture” in my life. I actually pray every day asking the Lord to search my heart and deal with any mixture. For example I ask myself the questions  “Why am I doing this”? Is it for my glory or His glory?  Is what I am doing or saying does it extend my kingdom or His Kingdom?
I genuinely want to be “fair dinkum” 24/7  and I sincerely believe through the work of the Cross, the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit, and the awesome grace of God I can be “fair dinkum”.
I also encourage myself, in the difficult times with the Lord’s words to Samuelin 1 Samuel 16:7 FOR THE LORD DOES NOT SEE AS MAN SEES,FOR MAN LOOKS AT THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE, BUT THE LORD LOOKS AT THE HEART NKJV
I sure do not make this an excuse, but a challenge to lay hold of the glorious inheritance I have in Christ that:
I am elect Col. 3:12
I am established the end 1 Cor. 1:1.8
I am victorious Rev. 4:11
I have all things pertaining to Godliness 2 Peter 1.3
I can do all things in Christ Jesus Phil. 4:13
The list in the Word of God  regarding our inheritance goes on and on. I am so glad God no longer sees me as I was BUT WHAT I CAN BE.
This simple blog is sure not written to discourage or condemn you, but to encourage you, to see afresh your inheritance in Christ NOW and that by the grace of God we can be:

FAIR DINKUM 24/7
