BUILDING ACCORDIING TO THE PATTERN (8)

At this time basing our thoughts on Acts 4, we have looked at Unity, Prayer, Worship, The Word of God, now we come to :

SIGNS & WONDERS for the Believer.

Jesus tells us in Mark 16 that  signs will follow those who believe, perhaps we should ask the question what sort of believer are you ?

A believing believer

An unbelieving believer.

We have said previously that the greatest sign and wonder is a person being born again of the Spirit, but in Mark, Jesus tells us to lay hands on the sick and they SHALL RECOVER, we should cast out demons and see people set free. Oral Roberts made a particular chorus very popular  EXPECT A MIRACLE EVERY DAY.  I guess we are so busy doing our own thing that we forget that God brings people across our path every day that we can minister too.

How long since you prayed for sick ?

Have you ever seen anyone healed?

Have you ever ministered to a demon effected person ?

Have you seen them set free?

Jesus looked on the crowds and was moved with compassion, He saw them as sheep without a shepherd. Can I suggest you go down to the local shopping mall sit down and look at the passing crowd. You will see many sad needy people. We must be the Lord’s hands and feet to them. Just because a person isn’t healed the first time we pray, Jesus says “ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking knock and keep on knocking until the answer comes.

SIGNS AND WONDERS  In the Church

The church should be many things:

A Worship Centre

A Teaching Centre

A Deliverance Centre

A Healing Centre.

We thank God for the remarkable increase in medical knowledge, BUT the Word of God is still relevant today in this area too. As believers we should call for the Elders of the church to lay on hands, anoint with oil, and pray the prayer of faith and expect the Lord to touch us.

Healing crusades have lost their appeal in our generation, but like worship the healing (Signs & wonder) ministry is  are not a passing phase in church life, Many people come to Christ because of a miracle. many people want to know that God is alive on planet earth in 2013. I am convinced this is an essential part of the pattern to build the church of the lord Jesus Christ.
