LESSONS LEARNED ALONG THE WAY (4)

By John Ollis

Every believer and especially those in ministry will experience real attacks of discouragement. Some people are easily discouraged and if we do not learn to deal with it, we will never succeed either in our walk with God or in any ministry God wants to work through us.

The enemy of our soul sure does not want us to succeed, and he will use anything and everything to stop us from succeeding. We have already said previously that life is made up of seasons, and the reality is there has been failures in the past and probably will be failures in the future.

If the failure is because of sin, then we MUST quickly come to the Throne of Grace and seek forgiveness from the Lord, and also make sure we have forgiven ourselves.

When you were growing up did you experience encouragement or were you often put down and told you were a failure or you would not make a success of your life? These sort of words  can leave a mark on our  lives that can cause us to doubt our selves. As we shared in the last blog we need to know what our inheritance is in Christ, and our thoughts and confession must line up with what the Word of God says about us.

So, when discouragement comes,

VERIFY THER CAUSE

If it is sin, seek forgiveness

If it from within reaffirm who you are in Christ

If it is from the enemy, we must resist him in Jesus Name and he must run away.

DON’T DENY IT

If you do you are simply fooling yourself

WORK THROUGH IT

It may not quickly go away, so you need to use the above principles and keep on using them until they do

USE YOUR PRAYER LANGUAGE.

Paul tells us when we know not how to pray let us let the Holy Spirit pray through us until the victory comes.

DESIRE AND DETERMINE TO KEEP THE PURPOSE AND VISION OF GOD FOR MY LIFE CLEAR IN MY HEART AND MIND AND LET IT BE PROGRESSIVE

KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE

Let us declare today with the psalmist

THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE I WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT
