A SLIGHT DIVERSION (2ND TRY)
Although I have commenced a new series, I want to share a thought with you ?
Did your church celebrate Pentecost Sunday this past weekend ? For some reason we continue to celebrate Christmas & Easter, but Pentecost seems to be forgotten, in previous generations it was a major celebration in many countries.
We should celebrate the birth of the Church and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the 120 in the Upper Room. These same believers were filled afresh in Acts 4.31. We then come to Paul’s teaching, he says it should be a PRESENT CONTINUOUS experience (Eph. 5.18-21. He uses the same language and tense in Rom. 12.1 that we should CONTINUALLY present our bodies as a living sacrifice.
IT SEEMS TO ME THE KEY TO THE SPIRIT FILLED LIFE IS CONTINUAL SURRENDER
Let me encourage you to do these things EVERY DAY
1. Ask the Lord to search your heart (ps. 139 .23-24 remember if we have sin in our heart God is not listening Ps. 66.18
2. Come boldly (with confidence) to the Throne of Grace Heb. 4.16 and receive your cleansing and forgiveness
3. Reaffirm His Lordship over your life Rom. 12.1
4. Do what Paul recommends in Eph. 5.19-21
(a) Spend some time in praise & worship
(b) Spend some time being thankful (count your blessings name them TON BY TON)
(c) Make sure you are in mutual submission to your brothers and sister in Christ
5. If you have a prayer language let it flow out of your heart and mouth
6. Ask the Lord to “Fill the House” and HE WILL
PENTECOST SUNDAY CAN BE YOUR DAILY CONSTANT EXPERIENCE IF YOU DO THESE THINGS
This is part of our glorious inheritance as a Believer, I guarantee on the basis of God’s Word, you will move to a new level of intimacy, a new power will flow through you, and you will experience a deeper purity and holiness in your life.
