Yesterday, we looked at 3 basic requirements in Leadership, here below is another four.

God may put a call on your heart, but there is time to move into your calling. GOD IS NEVER IN A HURRY. Don’t rush ahead of God.

The bible abounds with illustrations of men and women called by God, but long periods of preparation were necessary. Jesus was about 30 before He entered into  His ministry here on earth.

Timing is important in leadership from many aspects. The lesson is to wait on God god and hear His voice. Paul said 2 Thess. 3.5 The lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the Patience of Christ. (margin).

God’s leaders are men and women of faith. Heb. 11.6  Without faith it is impossible to please Him.

Leadership frequently demands acts of faith

e.g For the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit

For launching new projects

Praying fro the sick etc.,

How do you receive faith / Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word (Rhema) of God Rom. 10.17. Faith is receiving a word from God and launching out on what he says, and not on what circumstances and sense knowledge may seek to dictate.

Faith in leadership requires a mixture

Gal. 5.6 Faith which works by LOVE

James 2.17-23 (v.20) But wilt thou know o  vain man, that faith without WORKS is dead.  (Also 1.Cor.13.2)

All the best laid plans in the world will come to nought, except they be promoted by an enthusiast. Nothing in this world can compete with a Spirit filled enthusiast.

Paul encouraged his son in the faith, Timothy. 2 Tim. 4.2 Preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Enthusiasm is maintained by a fresh vital relationship with the Lord.Eph. 5.18-21

Humility is a quality of life attained by those who walk with Jesus. Micah 6.8 He has shown you o man what is good, and what the lord requires of you, to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God Micah 6.8

Jesus was our grat example of humility Phil. 2.8

The truly humble prosper Prov. 22.4 The Lord exults the humble Luke 17:7-11, James 4.10 1 Peter 5:5-7

Leadership in the Church of Jesus Christ, is an awesome responsibility in the light of that which he requires. But he gives grace to the humble, These 7 basic requirements for good leaders are each one a goal to be attained. God honours those who seek after Him Phil. 3:7-15
