SOME OF MY FAVOURITE SCRIPTURE VERSES (6)

By John Ollis

This for your interest is my 151st Blog, I am so thankful to the Lord for this opportunity to put in writing the things the Lord lays on my heart.
It is a couple of weeks since I have written under this topic, I can easily of course choose I guess 100’s of verses, I could write about, but have decided I would always pray and ask the Lord to quicken a verse to me,nothing came until last night, and it is a verse from James.
I must admit Paul is my favourite N.T. writer, followed closely by the Apostle John, I have come to really appreciate Peter (the rugged transformed fisherman) although not recognised as a Theologian gives some excellent teaching which I love.
Did you know James (with Jude) is the half brother of our Lord Jesus. History suggests he probably didn’t come to faith until the crucixion, but by Acts 15 he is recognised as the leader of the Jerusalem church, and speaks prophetically into the Jerusalem Council.
I decided I would read through the whole book of James last night, and stumbled afresh on so much of his awesome teaching, which I have often preached and taught from.
James 4.2 tells us “We have not because we ask not”. and 1.5 says “If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God”.
Life continually is filled with situations, that we do NOT have the answer for, and so often we wringe our hands and just complain we have no answers.
Do you want to live a victorious Christian life ?
Do you want to know how to live the surrended life ?
Do you have specific areas of challenge in your life ?
Are there decisions you need to make ?
Do you need wisdom regarding how to handle a certain matter ?
ASK THE LORD ASK THE LORD, ASK THE lORD, ASK THE LORD.
Don’t always be rushing to the Pastor, or a counsellor,or google it !!! we are Priests in our own right, and can BOLDLY (with confidence) come to the Throne of Grace, God wants to speak to us,He wants to give us answers, and the wise Pastor James says, Ask, Jesus said Ask and keep on asking.
There is some repition today from recent blogs, I am sure the Lord is reming me,and He wants me to remind you, don’t try and do it on your own, your wisdom, is not good enough, but God’s wisdom is PERFECT.
Let me encourage you not to simply use old knowledge and methods, but ASK.
Have an awesome Sunday.
